Hi guys, this is an off topic hygiene question. I have looked for a more appropriate area within this website but couldn't find one, so I'm posting here seeing as I know some of you guys anyway.
Don't want it to be a loaded question, but I'm trying to teach my daughter about personal hygiene and would like any opinions on the subject, from real people and not just a website. Fairly simply, how often should you shower, and why?
Thanks in advance guys and I hope no one minds me posting this unrelated question. Cheers.

Most people shower every day or every other day. But if your pretty low key, don't do physical stuff and do the topping up of washing in the bathroom every day to stay clean hygienically...then you could shower every other dayish probably. Some teenagers are pretty stinky though with hormones kicking in, and I'd just say....'hey kid take a shower', if it becomes an issue.
When my son was a young teen, he used to go camping with the scouts for weekend and came back home with soap still in wrapper. My friends reported that their kids were the same. He soon changed when he was a bit older and looking for a girlfriend.
I struggle with showering every day. My answer is wipes. I purchase a range that are used my carers. It gives me a freshen up and is sufficient. When my mental health is bad, this is the best I can do.
I completely understand and I’m glad I'm not the only one. I usually sponge bathe. Showers hurt for me and getting in and out of the tub is a chore in itself. I’m prone to oily hair so that gets washed in the sink almost every day. Some days I say screw it and let it go. Wipes are great! Some days that’s all I can muster up the energy to do.
I am in Uk and get a great brand of wipes . Not sure if I am allowed to say the source. They also do a shower cap shampoo. Pop the cap in microwave for 30 seconds and put on your head. Massage for 3 minutes. They are great and cleanse your hair and scalp. They can only be used once, so at £5 sterling UK. would be expensive to us each day. I have dry hair and can let my hair go for over a week without washing. The cap is a real treat..
Depending on how old they are, my kids had a bath/shower Sunday night. Then depending on what they were doing they would washup before bed and before school on quiet days. Gym days at school was shower nights. Once they hit puberty then I had them either shower at night or before school every day. If they showered in the morning then I made them wash their face before bed because my family was prone to acne.
