I am ocd in the thoughts about talking to women. I deal well with my anxiety and then that comes up unexpectedly when I think I should and chicken out and then stew about it for days. Maybe exposure therapy or some direct way of dealing with this will help. I am that rare type that loves being the center of attention, yet is not assertive

Chess dude, yea exposure would help with that and your lack of assertion. I have assertion problems too. I like attention but not too much. You are probably an extrovert and introvert combination. Do you see a therapist now? Are you on meds? I am on Prozac for a long time and Nortryptline recently. Try and fInd A CBT therapist who does exposure. It would be good. I have done a little of it but it was too expensive, so I am looking for a cheaper way. Good luck, God bless.
