Hi all. I have been feeling anxious and depressed the last few days and think it might be related to the holidays, even though I have a great family to spend it with. Does this happen to anyone else? What do you do about it? I really don't want it to ruin my Christmas. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Holiday slump
Maybe you will feel better if you do some relaxation exercises and some deep breathing. Nothing fancy, just take a little time out a few times a day to focus on relaxation techniques. See if you notice any tension or anxiety about the holidays. Maybe you are worried about what people expect from you. As you breathe more slowly, as you exhale, try to release any tension. When you imagine letting go of tension and anxiety on the exhale you might notice you feel a little better. Let it go down through your arms and out through your fingers. Visualize it. Inhale peacefulness and quiet restfulness. Embrace the peace as it settles over you. Do this a few times and then repeat this later in your day as needed.
I'm so glad to hear that I'm not alone with that. This holiday season, especially Christmas...its been so hard. It's complicated, I won't get into it all...please pray for me this Christmas people if you would..I'm really in a dark place, &I am hurting deep down, intensely. To feel this amount of pain is scary..i don't have good habits to cope. I have really detrimental habits. If anyone has any words of encouragement, I'd *love* to hear them...thank you..
