hello, im brittany-24. I am new to this starting researching for help through my work assistance program to help with my anxiety/depression. my mother has suffered from this her whole life and i dont want to go see my life end up the same way is it already is beginning.

Hi Brittany,

I think you are doing the right thing by looking for help. Anxiety and depression are much more common than most people think. But many people with these problems go on to have good and productive lives. The important thing is to find ways of coping with these problems. Good luck in your search.

Brittany here is a suggestion. See how this would work. I have major depression and have had it for a while. I have taken time for myself to try visualizing how it would be and be in control of how I am feeling. I think of a peaceful setting where I am thinking about what is in front of me (surroundings) only. I have had to have unreal patience with myself because I thought it was foolish to try this. After pressing the depression issue with wanting to feel better I am using this to escape what is bothering me. It is for a short time but then I come back to what is in front of me and I can sometimes see stuff differently.
