Does anyone else here deal with a pulse of over 100 resting? My endocrinologist was concerned and sent me to a cardiologist. The cardiologist said he believes it is because of autonomic neuropathy. He said that if all nerves are cut to the heart it will beat at 120/min. That when they do a transplant, they don’t attach any nerves. Of course he said that is outside his specialty, but he was researching like crazy while I was in there. Said there’s probably a bad connection between the brain and heart. Makes sense with constipation and bladder issues also.
High heart rate: Does anyone else here deal with... - AMN EASIER
High heart rate

Autonomic neuropathy is a new medical term for me. Had to Google that:
Autonomic neuropathy is a group of symptoms that occur when there is damage to the nerves that manage every day body functions. These functions include blood pressure, heart rate, sweating, bowel and bladder emptying, and digestion.
I should think we've all got a chunk of those symptoms.
I used to get a racing heart, not any more. Never had it measured, just my own feeling.
Actually stumped you on something 😳. Never had heard of it myself until today. It just summed so much up for me when he was explaining it. Leave it to a specialist that we don’t normally deal with to mention it. Have an appointment May 11 with my neurologist, so will have to remember to mention this. Thankfully my wife’s memory is better than mine.
Autonomic neuropathy is very common. in spinal injuries which I learned from New Mobility magazine.: paraplegics, quadriplegics, etc. Since our disease mimics MS, I googled autonomic neuropathy + MS and I found no relationship about increased pulse. Some people naturally get increased pulse from white coat syndrome induced from anxiety. I can see no relationship with AMN and pulse rate.
I think this is also called autonomic dysfunction, or autonomic instability, and it can be related to both AMN and Addison's (causing POTS-type symptoms). Both my endocrinologist and neurologist have acknowledged this, but there is not really anything they can offer to help with this. If anyone knows otherwise, I would love to hear.
This is so typical with Addison's. Sometimes I have to be wary of standing up quickly after prolong sitting due to the lower blood pressure. On a side note, I love the head rush and dizzying effect. Like a mini high. Hey, I have to get some sense of enjoyment with this mess : )
Note: Autonomic neuropathy is a group of conditions caused by damage to your nerves. It can lead to many different symptoms, like dizziness, night sweats, and constipation. Those nerves are part of your autonomic nervous system that we are all so familiar with.
