I saw a new pain management specialist today, and was just prescribed Verapamil to potentially help with neuropathic pain. It is a calcium channel blocker, so I have a few concerns before I begin taking it. My blood pressure tends to be quite low, so I am not sure if this will lower it further (since it is usually taken to treat hypertension). Also, I read that Verapamil is a medium inhibitor of steroids, so could potentially be dangerous for a person with Addison's (which I have secondary to AMN).
I have never heard of this medication being used to help with neuropathic pain. What do you think? Thank you!
