Trying TUDCA again

I am sure TUDCA has been discussed before, however I have been reading over the studies for ALS and other neurological disorders again. WIth the help of ChatGPT, I am able to have things explained easier than ever before. If you have not already tried it, I highly recommend it for research on understanding this disease and possible treatments. I was able to have it create a detailed explanation of Adrenomyeloneuropathy, and how TUDCA could potentially benefit progression and even correcting some of the damage using analogies for someone one that does not have any science background. If anyone is curious, I would be happy to pass it along. It is great for those that want to understand the disease in a thorough and easy way.

On the note of TUDCA, I have started taking 2g/day again (Which is the dosage recommended in the studies). Of all of the things I have researched and tried over the past 20 years, I have the most hope and confidence in this, now that I understand exactly what it does and can do in diseases such as Adrenomyeloneuropathy. Is there anyone else that has tried it or currently doing this therapy? The only side I affect I notice, is much looser stools, which honestly isn't the worst, as due to the damage that has been done, I cannot have a regular bowel movement without the help of something like daily consumption of Restoralax.

Best,

Patrick

After your post I red articles about that supplement. It looks promising. Maybe it worths to try it. It's not gonna hurt at least.

Hello, I ran this by my neurologist and he looked into it. He told me that it looks like something promising and that it would not hurt me to try it. So I ordered 1200mg capsules and will start with one a day and then maybe go up to two a day. I will update on the results if there are any.

What brand did you order?

I have never heard of that of that company, but I am curious about it now. I live in Canada, and there are some challenges to get it here. I was able to find an affordable option in the UK on Amazon, and was able to get it shipped to Canada. It is a company called P!nkTribe, and each serving is 1200mg. So then each capsule is 600mg per. It looks as though that for this company, each serving is then 550mg per capsule. In the studies done, they uses 2g per day. So for your product you are trying 4 per day would meet this requirement, and for me 4 per day, is a bit over that dose.

I posted about TUDCA 7 years ago.

I never did take it in the end. Perhaps I should have filed it under the old "We are cured" label.

Ordered 500 mg of TUDCA, I give it a try) By the way, have you ever searched info about Resveratrol? It looks that it may also help and contribute to reducing neuroinflammation. But IDK if it's possible to take it together with TUDCa.

That is great! Just ensure that it is not 500mg per serving, as in for 2 capsules. As in they might be 250mg each. I say this as the recommended dose is 2g (2000mg) per day for neurological help.

I know that Resveratrol is a great antioxidant, so could assist in some ways. And definitely no problem taking an anitoxidant (Resveratrol, Vitamin C for example) with TUDCA

Thanks for advice. I think I start from 1000 mg per day, just want to watch how my body will react on TUDCA. By the way, there is a supplement (see Product Details) fatburnersonly.com.au/prima... that contains TUDCA, NAC, Resveratrol, Curcumin and other products. All of them a good antioxidants. I mean it's better to buy them separately, but the recipe is good) I red that TUDCA is better with NAC, but I think it's better to get consultation from the doctor before mixing everyting.

I never consult with my doctor. They do not know anything about this disease, nor about alternative treatments. I am a holistic nutritionist, so I do my own treatments and research. NAC is a great thing to take; I do. In regards to the supplement you are suggesting, that sounds great, the only thing is, is that in one that has a mixture of different molecules, they may not be in the amounts one needs, like in the case of the TUDCA (2g). And that is a good idea to start slow and see how your body reacts. All the best.

Hey! How is it going taking TUDCA? Are there any improvements?

Hello! Currently I’m doing two separate protocols based on two different studies. Taking the TUDCA, has been shown to potentially halt disease progression, and therefore doing the job of the mutated gene.

Repairing the nervous system is complicated. It’s not like skin cells, as it’s so much more complex, and does not regenerate as quickly. You may have seen the high dose antioxidant protocol that showed significant improvements in the six minute walking test of participants, therefore potentially healing some of the damage that has been done. The combination is of NAC, Vitamin E and Alpha Lipoic Acid. So my theory is, that if I combine these two protocols, I am potentially halting progression, and then healing some of the damage that has been done. It’s been just over two months with the combination of these two protocols. I need to take it longer to observe, however on two separate occasions, I saw people that hadn’t seen me in a while, and they noticed significant improvement in my mobility and strength. (Currently I use a walker to ambulate.)
