Ablation appointment take two …..

Deep breath and all fingers crossed, I’ve been given provisional appointment for cryoablation end of this month. They need to use an internal echocardiogram on me (ICE) due to previous heart surgery and clot risk. There is only one such thing in the locality which is why they had to cancel todays appointment.

Fortunately although I’d cancelled the entire hol, I hadn’t managed to cancel the train tickets to Edinburgh so I spent the morning sorting out places to stay and rearranging cat sitter and getting excited about going away after all! Thanks everyone for all the thoughts and kindness during these tumultuous few days!

That would be a TOE, Trans oespohgeal echocardiogram. Small probe down you throat to check for any clots inside your heart from behind. No biggy.

Hate to contradict you Bob, but the procedure is intracardiac echocardiography (ICE)

See htworld.co.uk/news/3d-intra...

Quite new which is maybe why we only have one qualified operator in our area!

Enjoy your break😊. Our holiday to France cancelled at last minute. Waiting for Ablation appointment. We are lucky we live near lovely beaches, so we have become tourists in our home town. 🏖️ Good Luck

Ah, super - that’s the best attitude! We’re near good walks and beaches here too so always have that to fall back on. Sorry you had to cancel the France trip though - good luck with the ablation!

Rainfern I have just posted about your previous appointment as I hadn't seen this.

Have a lovely break in Edinburgh, there is so much to see and do you will love it.

I had to cancel a holiday too, near Edinburgh at St Andrews, hopefully I won't be cancelled.

I will keep you posted on progress.😀

Oh goodness what a coincidence! I’m so pleased to hear that you didn’t have that terrible two year wait! I’ll think of you on Wednesday by which time we will be in Newburgh with friends overlooking the Tay. We’re not stopping long in Edinburgh as we are keen to get to some old haunts - St Andews and Boar Hills included! Do keep in touch and let us know how it goes. Take the return journey very easy - meditate and doze! And make sure you don’t have to do anything for a week or two. I believe it can be tempting to get back to normal too quickly. You’ll be fine the second time round - take care and speedy recovery 😀
