Pre ablation appointment
Good news Paddington, I'm scheduled to have mine next weds 26th oct, I to am feeling very very nervous, to the point of ringing up no cancelling it, however at 41, I'd like to try to be aggressive in getting treatment, not cure as I believe cure isn't possible for this condition, I wish you the best of luck with your journey
Well that's all depends on the definition.
When learned people like Professor Schilling now talk about people being cured you know that milestone is being reached!!! You may be one of the first with this new pioneering treatment!!!!!
All the best for Wednesday. Remember, true courage is being scared, but doing it anyway. (Dr Who quote)
Good luck hope all goes well
Hello Paddington
Please do let us know how you got on during and after the ablation. I am nearly 80 and after 20+ years of struggling with AF I have AT LAST been referred to a cardiologist with a suggestion from my gp that I undergo ablation. I live in Northampton and like most hospitals generally the waiting list is VERY long!!!! I will be very interested in your experience after having undergone this op. Good luck and I hope it all goes well.
Best wishes Gillyflower 13
Good news that things are starting to happen. I am just at beginning of journey at the Freeman. Can i ask who you are under and how long you have waited?.
Hi Paddinton. Had my ablation at the Freeman in July. Despite having a few initial hiccups afterwards would def say go for it. My quality of life has massively improved. I was pretty much in af 24/7 before my ablation and very breathless with it to the point of needing help just to get to my loo but now feel 100% better. If my af ever does return would not hesitate to have another one. I am on deronadrone as a precaution but know at my follow up appt I'll be taken off them as cardiologist said I wouldn't be on them too long. The staff at Freeman really brill x
Recently had my ablation at Freeman. After all my nervousness went absolutely well. Calmness , reassurance and professionalism were evident from those involved from start to finish. At present OK off all mdication except anticoagulant, never felt so good. All the best for your procedure
Thank you for all the support. I will keep you up to date with what happens.
