I think one or two a-fib posters in the past have mentioned using magnesium oil or spray, and I'm wondering how effective this is overall? Has the use helped with ectopics, or a-fib, or sleep, or general sense of well-being? And can the oil or spray, or even epsom salts soaks, be safely used in addition to taking magnesium in pill form? Anyone like to report on this? Thanks!

Magnesium Spray?
MG oil seems to help for me; I found MG pill (*not* MG oxide but MG citrate or other more bio-available form) works well
I take the spray oil and powder form but struggle to get my Mg levels with the Red cell test (Biolab London) out of the bottom quartile of the normal range. I probably need to up my dose and cut down on my dairy produce as I have read too much Ca can block Mg absorption. Seeing my Naturopath tomorrow for some guidance on this aspect; he reckons my Mg level needs to be in the top quartile, as well as CoQ10; the latter I usually overshoot the top quartile with a basic dose.
As far as I can tell it is perfectly safe provided your liver and kidney function tests are ok, you don’t have hypotension (low BP) and you don’t have Myasthenia - then it is contraindicated.
I use it and feel generally better since but who knows why ( too many other variables. Just a mnior point . Magnesium spray is not an oil but just Mg dissolved in water which is why it can cause dry skin. I just vary where I use it and moisturise on the areas I haven't sprayed
Thanks for your input, Bagrat. I just got some Magnesium spray supposedly harvested from the Dead Sea. It's watery but at the same time oily, so I have to rub it into the skin, which might be a good thing. Anyway, I plan to use it at night on legs and feet, as suggested for better sleep, and will continue popping a magnesium taurate pill in the morning. Hoping for tangible results.
I've definitely noticed an improvement in my flutters since using magnesium spray. I thought it might have been my imagination but when I stopped using it for about 3 months I found I couldn't sleep on my left side again without flutters kicking off I also noticed more bouts of palpitations during the day. It can cause your skin to dry out a bit but that's a price I'm willing to pay - I just moisturise in the morning and use the spray before bed. Having said all this I have never had my magnesium levels measured, just thought I would give it a try and it seems to work for me!
