ADT vacation thoughts

After almost 6 months off of all meds and 11 months since Lupron injection Ive been on med vacation. Feeling great , working out, feeling libido surge and just feeling normal again has been great. Lately though my testosterone levels have risen but below baseline still. And my PSA has jumped to 6 from undetectable . I'm will be starting Orgovyx. It's new med to me. I was taking Lupron shot plus abiraterone and Prednisone. That combo was draining the life out of me physically and mentally. I hope that Orgovyx will be helpful. I look forward to my next ADT vacation because quality of life is very important to me Stage 4 prostate cancer sucks bad. I keep praying there will be a cure for us that is reachable and affordable. And a ADT vacation will last forever as long as we live.

More info here. I still have prostate and testicles. I did have bladder mass removed in surgery when I was first diagnosed. Had big tumor removed in thigh bone which required a total right hip replacement followed by 10 sessions of radiation to thigh area . .Went on 8 rounds of docetakl chemo with ADT meds for 18 months.. then went on wonderful ADT vacation..Best vacation ever imo.

I hope the new meds have fewer side effects for you.

You may want to consider added transdermal estradiol (tE2)patches or gel/cream to fight the hot flashes and osteoporosis from Orgovyx ADT. Look up the Phase-II and -III PATCH trial results that show tE2 is a safe and effective alternative option to traditional ADT.

similar here, 2 years Lupron, 9 month vacation, on Orgovyx now 10 months. Side effects less Lupron as far as hot flashes and lethargy. T=3 after 2 weeks on Orgovyx, PSA 0.03.

Did your PSA rise above normal any time you were on med vacation.

yes, the rule of thumb I was told was once PSA was 50% of starting PSA you went back on ADT. For me start 7.2, 9 months later 3.6 and start of Orgovyx. Funny, I’m at Book of Mormon and just had my worst hot flash since I started Orgovyx in June!

Is there ways to keep PSA levels low during ADT break? Besides injections like trimix is there anything that combats ed especially when on ADT.?

Not sure, I’m pretty sure Tall Allen might know. I’m thinking on not going on a ADT vacation next time….
