Another brother passes

My friend, George, passed this morning after a two year battle. He was DX'd at 85 with prostate cancer (PSA of 1200) behind his eye which spread to his brain. Failed ADT, chemo and Pluvicto. He was not on this forum.

He was very active, skied 120 days a year, biked the rest. He and his wife went to Europe every year. One year to ski and the next to bike.

He lived a full life, and that is all we can ask.

Hey gsun sorry to hear about your friend, especially since you were talking about him last time we met.

He lived life on his own terms and 85 years is a respectable run on this planet. He is a winner.

My condolances to all his loved ones and close friends.

Unfortunately it was not a peaceful passing. The cancer was in his brain and he was very agitated the last few days. Couldn’t communicate and that was frustrating. He’s at peace now.

My wife and adult kids all know to "up my morphine" if in the same situation. Don't be afraid to talk about these things with your family before you reach that stage. May your friend George be enjoying the blessings of life after earth.

85! That’s a pretty good run. I set a goal to make it to 75. Seemed a long ways away 18 years ago. Seems pretty realistic these days unless I ride my sled off a cliff or crash and break something g important.

I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. I hope it was peaceful. Death only sucks for the ones left behind. I often wonder if grief, at its core, is are brain reacting to the reminder that death comes for us all. I mean yes we miss our friends and our loved ones but we blink a few times and it is we who are taking the journey. Although I am still having fun and not quite ready to go, sometimes I can feel my spirit/ energy force for my secular friends, ready to be set free from my rotting carcass.

Myself, my daughter, and my wife, out slingin’ some discs.
