After almost a 6 year battle with this beast My husband died on Mother’s Day. He fought so bravely and died in hospice care. He was so loved by his children , grandchildren and friends. Hopefully someday they will find a cure. Thank you to all of you for all your help and support.

Sorry about it, take care. We are still not out of grief of my father demise more than a year ago especially my mother as they would have been celebrating 40th marriage anniversary last year just a week ago when we lost him. I just wished there would have been better awareness of prostate cancer especially when he showed his prostate problem on time and then he had to suffer from cemo from blood cancer developed from the side effect of prostate cancer radiation therapy. That was very bad. Keeping in mind the karma theory which my religion believes, he did so much good karma in this life and still he got brain infection from chemo and was unable to move or speak but can see and feel. That's pathetic I am still unable to understand why all this happened why,I really wish you all the strength and may his soul rest in peace but I really hate this C word in my life

The bond of family, the caring company of friends and guidance of clergy can be helpful and-----sometimes not! At times we need to be alone to grieve and to reflect about the loss of a loved one.
We never heal, we never get over a significant loss. In time, we learn to accept the loss. I would not have, not shared my life with some loved ones. to have avoided experiencing the pain of separation that death brings. It takes time. Find peace. Be at peace.

I didn’t know your husband so I’ll speak for me. If I were your husband and your dad I’d tell you that you mourned me while you walked with me down this path all the way. Please give me peace and mourn me no more. Get about your lives now and reclaim your joy and be very very happy. There is no more to be done. For me if you shoulder another moment of despair about me you break my heart. I didn’t know him but you did. Would he think like me?

So sorry. The lion’s share of us are in the same boat. I am approaching six years since diagnosis and recognize my time will be coming. We are traveling with intention while I am able, walking 1-2 miles most days and eating 1-2 salads a day. Yet, I feel it inside—including being worn down by the cumulative collateral damage of the robust treatments. Still in the game presently, subject to change. Take care.

I had noticed that you had replied to my own post about PSA testing and that scandal. I was very sad to read that your husband had passed away. And I note that he passed away from heart failure. Apparently up to 30% of metastatic prostate cancer deaths are related to heart attack and similar things. There's a fair amount of discussion about cardiovascular health on this forum usually in the context of exercise. So I noticed this in your bio update.
