I'd like to thank all on this page who have taken the time to answer questions, offer support or share their own important stories. My loving husband was released from his suffering this past Tuesday, April 23. He fought to the bitter end and suffered greatly from terminal restlessness until the hospice team changed his med rotation to morphine every 2 hrs. combined with alternating atavan or halperadol...all liquid. Right now there are mundane things to occupy my mind and hands and I'm immersing myself in music that has always helped me deal with things I usually suppress. The hospice team was wonderful and helped more than I could even have imagined. My children and grandchildren are there to help with anything/everything I need now. Though utterly and profoundly sad, I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by them all. My BFF whom I've known since 1st grade (70 yrs. ago) is coming in from Kansas for the services. I wish all of you comfort, healing, and the strength to fight on in whatever form works best for you. Godspeed.

It’s always hard for me to find words - transferring the feelings of sorrow into the right words. Music helps me in such moments, too. You are surrounded by your family and you know, that your husband got the best care possible. This doesn’t make the sadness go away but you know that all has been done. My sincere condolences, one day we are all re-united.

I actually hate prostate cancer now. I think we and all our brothers who are RIPing, need to rise up and attack our Governments who do not fund cutting edge treatments. Australia, I need proton therapy to have a shot at staying alive more than about 2 to 3 years more, yet, today, I am as well as, still work, heading for 13 years in, got our first version of Proton (Bragg South Australia) coming on stream in 2025, naturally it is funded for about its first 5 years, only for kids and head and neck cancer. Old guys with prostate cancer, it ain't breast cancer, doesn't have a pink cricket test to bless it with dedicated nurses and cash, well, you are haddit and just whistleing dixie heading South. Pluvicto, Lu 177, ha, 60k. If you can get it.
I pray you find peace after this difficult trial. Your husband is released from his suffering and I'm certain he would want you to find happiness in this world. When you look at your children and grandchildren, I hope you can see him and recall the wonderful memories you created together. This is the desire of all the men for their spouses and families suffering from this dreadful disease.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss and especially that he suffered so. Mine too became agitated but the liquid Ativan and Haldol kept him calm until his end. Do take advantage of the grief counseling provided by hospice, it has definitely helped me with coping strategies
