He was not a member here, but in Chicago, where I live, he was universally loved and respected. Lin Brehmer lost his battle against PC on Jan. 22, at age 68. He was a longtime DJ and host on WXRT Radio, where he was a leader in defining the progressive rock experience for many of my generation. He loved rock and roll, pizza, and the Cubs.’ His favorite saying, up until the end , was, “‘it’s great to be alive.” I heard his last year was very difficult. I didn’t know him personally, but I will miss him.
RIP, Lin!

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of they friends`s or of thine own were.
Any man`s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
I spent 23 years in Chicago Land and just left 2 years ago. I can hear Lin's voice still and remember well his weekly dissertations on chosen subjects (Lin's Bin).
I was diagnosed with my PC before I left Chicago and had no idea Lin had it.
Very sorry for your loss of such a great guy. He sounds like he was very active in music and I am guessing that helped him deal cope with this disease.
