PSADT question...plus Xofigo and comorbidities

Hello, I am new to the site. This is my first post. I am mCRPC since 4/2022, and on abi/pred since then. My PSADT is now 2 months (44.55 on 6/1 to 96.28 on 8/4). I am waiting to be placed on Xofigo. Should I be panicking about this PSADT? Also most folks seem to be otherwise healthy.....do any of you guys have comorbidities? I am a renal patient on hemodialysis and I have a pacemaker that prevents me from having MRIs. My renal failure has affected treatment choices, but also I have to think about side effects like diarrhea, since I am hooked to machines for 5 hours three times a wk. thanks for any suggestions or insights.... This site has been very helpful....

I too am resistant. I did Xofigo last year with good results- no significant growth and some shrinkage of Mets. Zero side effects for me, but I have no comorbidities. Good luck.

Is having pain a prerequisite for having Xofigo?

It certainly wasn’t for me.

PSADT changes with different treatments. It is an indicator of many different things: how well the current treatment is working, when a particular treatment has stopped helping, and how aggressive the current dominant mutation is compared to the original cancer. Two months was my husband's worst PSADT, but a change in treatment made the PSA undetectable for these last three years. Before then, his congenital heart defect worsened. The surgeon couldn't schedule the TAVIR soon enough, so it was a near thing with all the fluid retention. Side effects of treatments accumulated over the 14 years he has been fighting aPCa: fragile skin, hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency and ulcerative colitis are the physical ones while the mental impact has changed his personality, memory and acuity.

Your medical team needs to be topnotch for such a complicated case as yours.

You need to be positive as your attitude affects your body. Rejoice in each new day and live it to the fullest that you can. Appreciate the small things.

Praying for you
