Anyone taking Orgavyx
I started thre weeks ago, I get mine though TRICARE For Life which serves as Part D for my Medicare.
So far, albeit early, mild hot flashes. No fatigue though.
Is your drug plan covering the cost?
for the six months, co-pay is $68. It comes from a special pharmacy vice say Walgreens. They have a nurse who checks in on me by telephone to see how I'm doing.
Search function would probably provide more information than awaiting responses. Apologies because I just don't want to type out the whole thing again
But if you want to know what side effects might be possible, look up Degarelix/Firmagon as it (Orgovyx) is the oral (pill) form of the same.
Best Regards
Hi, I am Orgovyx and have been on it for about 1 1/2 years. My prescriptions is filled through the VA. Previously on Lupron. Very minor side effects, I’ve been on ADT on and off (with 3 vacations) for about 36 months.
Hi, thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it greatly. I have been on Casodex for 2.5 years and my PSA started rising so my doc is putting me on Orgavyx. Been fighting this since 2015. just had a bone scan and no mets, Doc says it is still contained in the prostate. Going for an appointment to get Proton therapy Proton Beam. therapy. this is suppose to be a targeted radiation that just kills the cancer and nothing else. Hopefully. Been holding out for something like this to come around, thanks again ...
I was on Orgovyx for 9 months ending April 1, 2023. My experience was not very good. I've had brachytherapy, proton therapy, and cryotherapy over the last 3 years at Mayo. I have continued a strict regimen of strenuous exercise throughout all treatments. I'm not over weight and eat healthy (mostly). The first 6 months of orgo were not bad. The last 3 months were tough. Lots of hot flashes every day and night. I lost stamina suddenly, finding this out while exercising on a rowing machine. I lost some body hair and gained 7 pounds of belly fat. ED was a way of life. Some depression. This drug got it's hooks into me deep. My PSA is undetectable now. My oncologist said it was okay to stop and I did. After a month, I can see improvement but still some residual. It was very expensive and I'm on medicare. More to follow.
