Hello. Just starting Zytiga and unfortunately, the Cancer clinic isn't open till Monday.
The Prednisone says to take on a full stomach. The Zytiga says empty stomach. Do you take them at the same time? Prescription says 2 prednisone daily at different times. Is that right?

I take zytiga when I first wake up, even if 5 a.m. I don't eat anything for an hour. Then after bfast I take 5mg of prednisone. I only take 1 a day. When I used to take 2 the other was after dinner.
Absolutely right...zytiga should be with empty stomach and prednisone should be with full stomach
Hi dpowellnt, since I always pee at some point in the middle of the night, for max fasting, I’ve been putting Zytiga nightly in a nice easy to open pillbox on my nightstand next to a small glass of water. I can then ensure definite fasting about 4 hours before and after. I take prednisone with breakfast. Good luck! Dougnola
I take Zytiga 2 x 500mg with plenty of water the second time I get up to pee in the night, which is usually about 4 am. I was told to take Prednisone with food, not necessarily on a full stomach. So I take 1 x 5mg with breakfast (together with some other meds), and 1 x 5mg with lunch or some mid-day food. I think this routine is similar to that of many others here.
Hello. I would like to ask if you take zytiga twice a day after consultation of your doctor. In other words .... I havent read this regime before,that it is possible to use zytiga twice a day. Or maybe you use one pill at night and the other at 4....So Iam interested in your story. My daddy has severe problems with stomach after full dosage. We are going to try lower dosage 500 mg. But maybe the way how you take your zytiga could be helpful....

I was on a clinical trial with zytiga. I was told at first to take both zytiga and prednisone on an empty stomach. About one year into the trial my PSA started to rise. I was then told to take both with food. My PSA again started to fall. I was on the trial for 3 1/2 years before my PSA rose to the point that I was taken off the trial.
I not sure what to tell you. Maybe start with an empty stomach and to with food if your PSA starts to rise.
What was your next treatment after zytiga failed?
As I recall I went on the Provenge treatment for nodules on my lungs. It worked well. The nodules shrank and have stayed dormant since. That was 5 years ago.
My next ADT drug was xtandi.
I take 2 500 mg of Zytiga around 6:00 am everyday, followed by breakfast around 7:15 am with my prednisone. I only take one 5mg of prednisone daily. Once you get on a schedule, it is not hard to keep doing it. Been on it 6 months now, and so far good results. Keeping the fingers crossed it continues.
