Erleada

I recently had a PET scan which identified a small number of lymph nodes in my pelvis region hot with metastatic prostate cancer. My current PSA is 5, and my physician has recommended and prescribed Erleada as a solution. I am worried bout the side effects, but it seems I have no other solution. The only uplifting side is that the effects can be stopped by stopping the pills. Has anyone here been on this medication with little to no side effects, and is it knocking the PSA down??

Did you start Lupron together with it at the beginning? Curious if SEs increased over and above Lupron's SEs. Thanks

Yes i was in / am in the titan study.....so inhave not experienced the singular se`s of lupron/ eligard,,,,, i do know that ive been on both lupron and eligard,,,,,and both suck....i also am aware that ...what i call the heavy leg feeling is the same with both therapies.

Set side effects out of your mind as most are mitigated through other medicine. To deny what your trained professional says, is to stop fighting this bastard disease. Kill the little bastards and live longer......

Been on Erleada/Eligard 40 mths. Have some fatigue, hot flushes and a little brain fog, nothing that I can’t handle for another 20 years. My Psa has been <0 and testosterone <10. In my case anyway, exercise, attitude and healthy eating seems to help.

Among the advanced AR drugs Erleada is a fine choice. Nubeqa has fewer severe adverse SEs, Xtandi has more. Zytiga (abiraterone) is an excellent choice for many but requires low dose prednisone and more monitoring. All work better for some time combined with ADT than does ADT alone. Work with an experienced medical oncologist (MO).

went from 4 pills to 3 pills because of some Vertigo. 3 pills (180mg total) for the year with great results. <0.1. Also, first line of defense is the dreaded Lupron.

67 years old and I've been on Erleada/Lupron for the whole time after a PSMA scan showed 8 affected lymph nodes in the belly.....fatigue increased (but I'm also 67 and still working full time so its to be expected), no libido, some weight gain modified by eating a little less and walking the dogs and working on motorcycles, no body hair....BUT no changes in the T and PSA numbers, and a very happy MO and my partner is delighted also, so really its a situation and a drug regime that most can adapt to and live with and the underlying message is that the cancerous nodes are still dormant and life is still good.

Yes it knocks PSA down. Everyone is different as far as side effects. In my case, after 3+ years, fatigue and brain fog but far from debilitating. Many days are completely normal, then BOOM, I have no energy and can't think very well. I deal with it by frequent napping and also by trying to keep my brain engaged on something, anything...

Best wishes!

You might try L-Theanine for brain fogs, drowsiness... Daily 200 mg with breakfast is what I am doing.

How long have you been taking this dose and how’s it working for you?

This week, and each time the mid/late-morning drowsies were much improved. Before I tried ginseng but after a while it didn't work as well, almost as if my body became less affected by it.

As another effect, after I started L-Theanine I've been losing weight, about 1 lb a day, which I chalk up to water weight. I also take about 20 mg creatine/day before serious exercise after dinner.
