About five years ago Karmanos in Detroit doctor said my prostate cancer biopsy resembled Melanoma.

I did have Melanoma removed from my arm and leg ten and Seventeen years ago.

As I still show a dormant Pca cells in the prostate. Now PSA is 0.04. afte LU-177 and AC-225 at the university of Heidelberg three years ago.

Thinking I should look into a preventative treatment for Melanoma.

Might there be medicine that can be prescribed as an possible prevention?

Wondering.

Discuss with your doctors about systemic BCG.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Look for BCG for melanoma on this paper.

I was dx with Stage 4 PCa in 2014 and the PA for Snuffy Myers at the time noted a suspicious looking freckle on my nose. Turned out to be melanoma. I had to have some pretty extensive Mohs surgery done, fortunately it was insitu and hadn’t spread. I now see a dermatologist for complete body exams every 6 months, I believe that is the best preventative action to take for melanoma.

I agree . I also see a dermatologist every six months. Had Mohs twice on my nose. It was under the skin and only visible in the bright sunlight . It was the size of a dime.

From what I know, Melanoma can respond well to immunotherapy like Keytruda if it has the right mutations. Have you had any genetic sequencing done?

In addition to melanoma, I've had squamous cell carcinoma a couple times. I see my dermatologist every 6 months and whenever anything suspicious appears. I also wear long sleeves and hats whenever in the sun.

Rerun: Had a treated melanoma that eventually metastasized to my lungs and lungs treated with Keytruda and so far so good.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
