However; my Testosterone level today was 276 ng/dL. Previous Testosterone levels: 12/2/2022 - 11 ng/dL; 7/28/2022 - 11 ng/dL
My first Eligard injection was 6/24/2022 (30 mg) and my last Eligard injection was on 10/21/2022 (45 mg). I'm not scheduled for another Eligard injection (30 mg) until 4/21/2023.
Obviously it's a good sign that my PSA has not increased, but I am concerned my testosterone level is so high. Is there a reasonable explanation as to why my testosterone would be so high. I wouldn't think I've grown immune to Eligard after only being on it for 8 months thus far. I have sent an email to my Dr asking the same question, and I have an upcoming appointment with him on Wednesday March 8th.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Eligard should always lower testosterone (one never gets immune). But it seems like your last 6 month shot wore off too fast. Maybe get a retest of testosterone, and if confirmed, get your next shot early or switch to monthly Firmagon shots or daily Orgovyx pills.
My Dr just emailed me back a few minutes ago. He recommended the exact same thing. Getting my T retested Monday morning and if the number is still above 50 he wants to switch me to Firmagon.
As I have come to expect/trust, you are spot on with your recommendations for moving forward. Thanks again for your quick and accurate response.
I suspect most MO/RO's secretly checkout TA's replies and issue patient advice accordingly ! 😀
As one who had only three month injections of either Eligard or Lupron for almost seven years (corresponded with blood work and medical oncologist visit), I would suspect that an error was made and you did not receive a six month injection.
Thanks for asking. Yes, everything turned out well. My Oncologist switched me to Firmagon and that’s been working well. Dr. Was pleased to see that even with the high T level my PSA didn’t budge from .01. Most recent blood test showed T is back down to 11 and PSA is still at .01. Next blood test is July 17th.
Current plan is to remain on Firmagon until July 2024 and have PSA checked every 3 months. Then we’ll discuss vacation or just stay on ADT.
