Choices after chemo and Xtandi?

brief history

Hubby diagnosed Nov 2021, metastic in bones and lymph nodes. Psa 600. Started Firmagon. Psa 1.42. Started 6 sessions docetaxel psa 8 continued with Cabazitaxel 4 sessions psa 150. Started xtandi 3 months later psa 330. Cancer has been spreading since April 2022 when psa was 1.42. Had operation to spine due to fracture. On copious amounts of morphine for pain. Met now in 1 lung. Can barely stand let alone walk. Xtandi crushed the man he was, along with the cancer. Meeting with onco yesterday said aggressive varient that’s why chemo and xtandi have failed. Going to start carboplatin and etoposide next week.

We are at the moment in hospital as morphine tabs were not strong enough, now on a morphine pump. Will go home with this morphine pump next week. Of forgot to say Gad radiotherapy 10 sessions on 4 vertebres which finished last Friday. Did blood test yesterday to check for BRCA genetics. Are we near the end of treatments or are we at the end of treatments after these two combined chemo’s. Any info would be great, good or bad. Fabulous site for info. We live in France and getting any information is like getting blood out of a stone! Later today I am going to get my first ever tattoo. I am 57 years old and have never really liked them. Only when hubby became poorly did I really realize how personal some of these tattoos are to people. Just show’s you’re never too old to learn. Thanks Ginny

Is Pluvicto (LU-177) available for him? That's what I'm on after everything else has failed. Seems to be working for me (my pain has gone down at least).

Hi Ed, I’ve been following you on your journey. You are doing really well on the Pluvicto, long may it continue. Yes it is now available in France, from December last year I think. But he has a met now in his lung so I don’t think he can now have it. We’re in hospital now, he’s on a morphine drip. And I am quietly sobbing my heart out once again. Am so so tired of this disease wish I could just snuggle up to him and go to sleep forever

When all treatments have failed then it appears to be the end of the struggle. We keep our memories and love close. So get the tatto (a happy one), snuggle up and go to sleep. But not forever. You must wake up and go on living.
