Hello Warriors, it was exactly 5 years ago when I was dx with Stage 4 prostate cancer. PSA was 415 and Gleason 8. I was scared straight and thought the end of my life was imminent. Immediately was put on casodex for 2 weeks, 6 rounds of chemo, completed provenge and currently on Xtandi for 24 months now. PSA is undetectable. This group has been a blessing in helping me through this in the will to live. i just want to give a shout out to the men who helped me during this journey and have been giving the wings of angels. Men like CERICWIN, Dan59, Paulofaus and Charleton, etc. I miss these men who fought so valiantly til the end. Life is good. Keep fighting the beast.

5 years 9 months on March 6. My people and I raise a glass once a month to me being still alive after my first lame ass Urologist said I probably wouldn't be around now, yes I fired him. Used to live month to month then year to year. Now I look at it in five year chunk. The fight is real, be diligent

Excellent

We had the same uro!😩✌️

in reply to mrscruffy

I remember being told in months. Then as the years past months fly by . However , I Don’t expect anything. Each day not in brutal pain is a gift. I haven’t had to see a urologist in 6 yrs . That’s a blessing . I wouldn’t like their jobs. Nothing but misery. Good day! TGIF

Great news

Your profile does not indicate that you have had any surgery or radiation, If that is true why not?

I saw 4 different Oncologists 5 years ago and they all said the same thing that since the horses left the stables, no need to remove the prostate. So far no radiation in the future.

in reply to Nicnatno

Same here nic! “ The horse is out of the barn” my uro said !😳

Yup, my MO stated the same at my 2015 initial consultation, but I replied that "the terrorists left the base camp"

And my MO thought that was more apropos, as PCa wants to invade, spread, take over, destroy, and instill terror in the host.

As with terrorism, stay vigilant Brothers

Fight On y'all

Brilliant news.I also miss those that you listed plus so many others, Cleodman, Patrick T, Tom etc. My friend Stuart. So many good guys recently. Not a bad person amongst them. Let's keep this in mind when things occasionally get heated. We all need to keep everything at a supportive level.

Take care everyone. I raise my glass of water to all of you.

WELL Done . I want to post a similar thing in year 2023. I am 3 years and 4 month now. Never down to undetectable psa, but stable on 0.27 for the last 3 controls . On Zytiga for 28 months.

Nicnatno in reply to Jost-58

With your PSA so low, you will certainly make it and more.

in reply to Jost-58

Jost 0.27 and anything 0.1 or less is still

Considered undetectable! You’re doing well! 🤙🏽

in reply to Jost-58

Most docs recommend no action taken until2.0

PSA watch is a non stop thrill for all . ✌️

Congratulations on 5 years. Coincidentally, I was diagnosed at the same age, at about the same time. PSA was ‘only’ 54 at the time of diagnosis, and chemo, ADT, Zytiga and RP seem to be doing the job thus far…
