By the time I got around to responding to Nalakrat's post, he had over 3 dozen repiles & who know how many who read but did not respond. On the basis that those people would not get to read a late post, I started this one.

I have some interest in this going back to 2016 when my wife was on Velcade, a multiple myeloma chemo drug. At one point she became virtually bedridden because of nerve pain in her feet. We had to get special footwear so that she could get out for her infusions, etc.

Anyway, I came across a product, Nerve Renew, that seemed to be backed-up by science & I thought I'd mention the main ingredients, which are easily obtained.

1. Benfotiamine - a form of vitamin B1 - as mentioned by Nal. - 600 mg

2. R-Alpha Lipoic Acid - more powerful than regular ALA - 300 mg

3. Vitamin B6 - pyridoxine - 8 mg

4. Vitamin B12 - methylcobalamin - 4 mg

5 Vitamin B2 - 8 mg

It didn't stop her need for Gabapentin (100 mg every hour) but it's worth trying.

hmmm interesting.

As a result of Nalakrat's post, I decided to get some of Life Extension's Benfotiamine and a low dose prophylactic basis.

Seems sort of low risk high potential reward, so why not.

I think maybe I stay away from the other stuff, just too much vitamin B methylation to make me feel comfortable as a prostate cancer patient.

Damned inflation. Even the Hollow Weenies are getting smaller. Guess those pajamas were a gift from your ex. Is your next trick hopping on your tongue? That would be a real treat.

Yep, us men know about smaller Weenies.... that's for sure. And you're right again, those were a gift from my ex-wife, in fact they're her old ones...Hopping on my tongue would really be a trick (will have to practice that in Times Square - make a little pocket change ain't gonna hurt)....

I tried a foot massager machine and ended up with a ganglion cyst. The massager now sits next to my stationary bike.

I am not sure of the need for B-6, and 12--but the use of R-Lipoic is Double the Bio-Activity of Alpha Lipoic"

What are your thoughts about B2?

Do you believe there is any substance to this Amazon comment about R-Lipoic ?

"If you have mercury poisoning, or have dental amalgams, then ALA is extremely harmful because it "liberates" the mercury and carries it all around the body and into your brain. I took one capsule of ALA. I certainly didn't take a second one."
