XOFIGO #5 Today

Good morning everyone. Today is the 5th dose of XOFIGO. I had to take a 4 week break my WBC and ANC were too low. The good news this week was for the first time in 10 weeks I didn’t have to take a booster shot My PSA was 2.7 it’s continued to rise during the XOFIGO up from .3, but my MO says that’s normal. I’m ready to complete the next 2 doses so we can do a PET scan to see the results.

I hope you all have a great Friday. I pray for all of you who are in this struggle with PCA

One of my friends gave me a book yesterday I wanted to share with you it’s a quick read, but one that I know I will look back upon often. The story is uplifting and full of hope, love and kindness. I know that many days we need that in this world. It’s available on Amazon. Take care

Thank you for the up date BigTex. I have been following you posts. My husband will do #4 xofigo in 2 weeks. He has had similar issues with low counts. #2 and #3 were 5 to 6 weeks apart. Scans are also due in a couple weeks to see what we can see... What is the name of book that you are enjoying? I hope you have a blessed day today!

Hi and I hope his next treatment goes well. The book is The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse. It’s a quick read but very uplifting and positive.

John you’re always know what to say to make someone laugh.

I love this book. My new favorite. How are you feeling today? My husband is supposed to start #4 Tuesday. His scans do not look great. He has metastatic progression. Extremely worried.

I’m glad you liked the book. It really has so many great messages. I’m feeling ok today. I had the 5th dose on October 1st. My ANC has dropped to 1.0 this week. At this point not sure about #6 on the 29th. My PSA went up to 4 from 2.7. I’m sorry to hear about his scans. Did he have a PET scan during the treatment? I’ve not had one since February. My MO said to wait until the XOFIGO was complete. We have no idea how it’s going. We will definitely pray for you both.

Good morning. Blood work is today. He had a PET in May. Anxiety is over the top with the PSA. Praying it will go down. You are the second person that I have talked to that has not had a scan during xofigo. I'm going to ask our MO why he orders during treatment. Thank you - Enjoy your weekend!

My MO did say not to worry about the PSA spike during the treatment that it was a normal thing. I would really have liked to have had a scan to have an idea. He told me we have to wait 3-4 weeks after to do a scan. Did you have a break in between? Or was the last one in May if so wasn’t that before starting treatment. I had the first 4 doses 4 weeks apart.

Here are the actual dates. PET was 6/21/21 Nuke Bone, CT, XR chest 6/7/21 and 10/13/21. He's going 5 weeks between xofigo due to low blood counts. His CBC today are good to go. The Nuke Bone and Ct are lighting up like a Christmas tree. RO has found 2 lymph nodes that are larger? He's trying to maintain weight of 178 (he's 6'2") by eating as much as possible. RO is saying that she sees Atherosclerosis. MO says not to worry. We worry.

I understand the worry. All we do is try to stay positive. Thank God each morning for waking up. Walk the dogs and spend time together. Thankfully it sounds like your husband has a great supporter in you. I’m. Wry lucky in that aspect also. We will celebrate our 31st anniversary in December. This site is also a great support/informational system. Where are you guys located?

We celebrated #30 in June. We are in Ohio and actually love visiting Texas. Our son was working in Dallas and Tyler for a couple years. My father used to play football for the Dallas Texans way back in the day. Congratulations on #31. It's a big deal. Time to celebrate BIG!
