Cannabis Oil

Hi. Family member been diagnosed with prostate cancer. PSA 40. Been using Cannabis Oil (Rick Simpson method) for 43 days. He was taking it orally (moved him onto suppositorys as you avoid most of the high that way) Upon requesting another PSA before the prostate biopsy, it had went down to 36.2. Only other changes are clean eating. Veg, fruit, fish, nuts, bottled water. Cut out all meat and sugars.

I will update as we go in the hope it may help someone else.

I just wonder if anybody knows how soon after the prostate biopsy can we get another PSA test? I'm of the understanding that the prostate biopsy can cause inaccurate results if you get a PSA soon after?

Has he had a biopsy yet ? If not, then you can't be sure he has prostate cancer..The biopsy procedure greatly "insults" the prostate gland and PSA test results will be elevated for at least a month, maybe longer..Cannabis oil ? Good luck....

Dr Snuffy Myers strongly advises against the use of Cannabis Oil in PCa.

Cannabis oil does not cure cancer. I’ve lost 3 friends and acquaintances from using this, and very nearly another who required emergency surgery.

It’s your choice however, and good luck, you’ll need it.

Had surgery, pathology T3b, advised about Radiation and Hormone therapy but declined. Been taking cannabis oil made from various strains and my health could not be better. PSA taken 6 weeks ago was <.006. I had surgery July 2009.

What was your Gleason score? original PSA? How are you doing?

Pre-op Gleason 3+4, PSA 8.6 Staging 2b. Post-op Gleason 4+3, staging 3b, pathology notes that numerous nodes were dissected including one that measures up to 2cm. 2 years prior I had an ultrasound done to detect kidney stones. I asked about prostate tumors, none were found. I now feel well enough to climb a mountain or sail across an ocean by myself.

I grow my own, organic with LED lighting that I built, in living soil. I combine various strains and use all of the plants. I use ethanol as a solvent. At first, I tried to consume as much as possible, about 1.5-2 grams a day. Now I take about 400mg a day at bedtime.

in reply torbtbrsrd

Now what ratio CBD:THC?

rbtbrsrd profile image
rbtbrsrd in reply to

I started all of this long before testing was available. I have been aiming for about 15% Cbd along with all the other compounds. I have never seen the detailed pathology of the cell structure but whatever ratio I've been using must work. I using the everything but the kitchen sink approach in trying to produce oil with the greatest variety of cannabinoids and such as possible. I live in a landlocked community and the nearest lab in a 90 min plane ride away. Maybe I could get one of the local dispensaries to deliver a sample for me.

Do you know the name of the strains you use, that can give an idea of ratio CBD:THC

I think it is important to understand the difference between opinions and facts. I think all opinions, negative and positive, should be allowed. Opinions are subjective and what you want are objective input. Negative opinions shouldn't bother you and positive opinions won't help you. You want facts. Navigate efficiently through that maize and you will always benefit.

in reply toYellowLed

Here already his protocol:

Take note that he will start with a 3:1, but if no improvement, he will move to a 1:1.

Prostate

hormone positive or not.

If the cancer is not hormone positive then THC oil alone should be fine. If the cancer is hormone positive follow the instructions below as to both cannabinoids THC and CBD.

Ok, for this cancer we will use THC and CBD separate

(if posible) . By dosing CBD first by 2 or more hours prior to THC we will hope to do the following:

. Reducing inflamation

. Suppress the ID1 gene (mets)

This will hopefully allow THC to do a better job at A-apoptosis (programmed cell death) .

Ps. If the oils are a ALL IN ONE, are the cancer is non hormone positive, then simply follow the THC side of this schedule.

The oil(s) should be prepared by warming and mixing with a carrier oil as shown below :

Batch 1

THC (olive oil)

THC (coconut oil)

Batch 2

CBD (olive oil)

CBD (coconut oil)

MIXING & WARMING:

.fill a pan with water

.bring to boil on stove

.place a cloth in pan of water

.place a (small) sterile glass jar in pan

.turn stove top down to '3'

.Mix in equal parts ( cannabis oil and appropriate carrier oil) and stir thoroughly until one ... let cool a little, then you have a couple of options...

.Suck back into a syringe...they come in many different sizes so pick one (or more) beforehand depending on your dosing needs. You can dose directly from this, or put it into a dropper bottle to dose from, or put it into size 00 vegie capsules ... it depends on your individual dosing needs.

OR ...

.Suck back into small disposable syringes for suppository use.

Allow to cool before serving.

*PLEASE NOTE!!! The reason that we use EQUAL PARTS is ....

When it comes to dosing it is easier to figure out how much more one needs to take once it's mixed into one oil... Everyone has their own ratios.. here we preach 1:1 with a carrier.

And please VERY IMPORTANT when you WARM AND MIX with a carrier at equal parts with your cannabis oil you will now need to double the dose of the oil(s) ... So, if you were taking 3 rice grains straight oil (no carrier ) .. once WARMED AND MIXED you will now need to take 6 rice grains to equal the dose of the oil straight.

Now that we have our oils WARMED AND MIXED we will now move to dosing ... for this cancer we will cover a few methods as to hit it from a few angles.

Dosing :

6:00am CBD (sublingual) olive oil

8:00am THC (sublingual) olive oil

10:00am CBD (orally) coconut oil enteric caps

12:00am THC (orally) coconut oil enteric caps

2:00pm CBD (sublingual) olive oil

4:00pm THC (sublingual) olive oil

6:00pm CBD (orally) coconut oil enteric caps

8:00pm THC (orally) coconut oil enteric caps

How dosing should go for hormone positive

Start the above dosing as a 3:1 (high CBD) . As the treatment progresses build up to the following as a 3:1 (THC 60-80mgs) (CBD 180-240mgs) daily. When you reach this amount of each and have been there from 1-2 months with no good results, then start working the THC side up to make this a 1:1 (thc/cbd) .

Suppositories can and should be worked into this protocol as well.. they can be used at any time because they hold no high . We often advised to try and get at least two suppositories in a day for cancers like this.

TOPICAL : a topical solution is also a good idea for this cancer directly above the prostate. Once the topical is completed with all the mixtures in it you want to add 10% of that total weight and DMSO.

The topical should contain THC, CBD if possible, the base of the topical should either be coconut oil or emu oil.

Hint: warming the topical and the surface area of the skin above the prostate where the topical will be will help the body to absorb the topical deeper and more effectively. To warm the area simply use a hot moist rag once the area is hot and the pores or open should take about 1 to 2 minutes wipe the area dry and immediately applied to topical.

CannaTea : a cannabis yea should be consumed as well, made from cannabis flower. Teas in general for this cancer can be a great idea .

in reply to

What I can say from experience: the absorption is enhanced by intake of healthy fat 30 minutes before. My husband did a water fast and during fasting he didn't feel the high, but probably it did not absorb properly. After fasting he had a big high, like taking a greater amount (but it was the same). There are also some enhancers. In this group you can learn a lot.

You are letting negative opinions impact you. Focus on facts. If there are not sufficient facts available, then we have to wait.

Here is a fairly recent article on the value of pot v cancer:

yamobedeh profile image

I'd advise you to insist on either a fusion (MRI and Ultrasound guided) biopsy, or at least get an MRI and ask the clinic to use the MRI data in a TRUS (Trans Rectal Ultrasound) biopsy. I have a friend who had 3 negative TRUS biopsies, and with a rising PSA, finally was able to get a fusion biopsy, which was positive for PCa. This after months of delay.

YellowLed profile image
YellowLed in reply toyamobedeh

Thank you. I tried to advise him of this and he was going to go ahead and get an mpMRI scan to try and avoid the biopsy. But his urologist put the frighteners in him. We need tissue asap. No time to wait. So he went ahead and had it done.

yamobedeh profile image
yamobedeh in reply toYellowLed

If you feel the urologist is rushing you into making treatment decisions, I'd further suggest that you seek a second opinion, from a top radiation or medical oncologist specializing in PCa. PCa can be deadly, but it generally progresses slowly enough to allow you time to make reasoned choices for treatment. This forum has many members who are an unparalleled resource for you.

Best regards and hoping for best outcome.

"I am of the belief that the oil that does not work is made from low grade plants, and has not been made correctly (decarboxylation is an important part of the process)"

Nope, it will be good for hospice pain relief. But prostate cancer cells have extra CBD receptors. CBD is believed to work like fertilizer on prostate cancer cells, envigorating their growth.

From where do you have this info about CBD being a " fertilizer"?

The spelling article is a nice one.

Apparently we can all agree that "Prostate cancer cells possess increased expression of both cannabinoid 1 and 2 receptors".

The studies the article cites are all Petri dishes studies. There are no clinical studies.

My info came from casual clinical observations of Dr. Snuffy Myers and a speaker at the last Pcri conference.

They both noticed that hardcore believer/users all seemed to generate more aggressive prostate cancer the more they took. Myers seemed to be quite alarmed at what he was seeing and at the deafness of the true believers.

It would this is risky adolescent behavior until a real human clinical trial is done.

But probably good once you are in hospice to relieve pain and hasten your end.

Please update us. My husband is also doing cannabis oil and lifestyle changes (he has advanced PC). I don't know a case of remission with cannabis only for advanced prostate cancer. But we would already be happy just to halt progression.

Even the famous case Dennis Hill did have some hormone shots.

Oh I thought there might have been an actual ignore/block function. You're right, not easy. Thank you x

My husband had at beginnig PSA 17.9, after 4 months 12.5 Than it raised again, since he stopped cannabis for 2 weeks because of heart issues (that were not related) and now with the advise of CKC he has dimished his dosage and is taking a ratio 3:1 CBD:THC. In one month we will check it again. His PSMA PET CT showed a 30% lower activity!

i'm 71, was dx GL 4+3 last year. PTSD set in and i wasn't able to function until Jan, when i read about various cures of herbal, supplemental, natural, yadda yadda but one caught my eye: Zyflamend, a combo of 10 chinese herbs, 5 of which i was already doing, in smoothies. It's sold in some specialty stores and is expensive as all hell. Saved up my sheckels and started taking it, along with cutting down on animal protein, gearing up on mostly veggies and fruits, exercise, fresh air and sunshine... in 3 months, my PSA dropped from 16.3 to 14.8

looked great but that just wasn't enuff to relieve my fear of impending death by PCa. so i went on an ADT cocktail of bicalutamide (Casodex), finasteride and tamsulosin. After 3 months, PSA went to 0.117 - that was 2 months ago. will take another PSA end of this month.

When PSA rises and i'm no longer hormone-sensitive, i'll go for another kind of chemo. Radiation will be my last resort; that shit scares the pills outta me.

Casodex is a hormone-based chemo and has more or less killed erections but the other two drugs keep my gland small and let me pee easier. Again, i'm 71 and single so ED is no biggie. I can still achieve orgasm and have on rare occasions had pretty good sex with women for whom wham-bam penetration is not the only way to fantastically satisfying orgasms.

But i can empathize with guys who see the loss of erection an insurmountable price to pay, for staying alive. to them i say, "wake up, asshole - at least you'll be alive"

i've lost several friends and acquaintances to cancer in the last year. most tried holistic/naturopathic treatment and some tried "conventional" medicine but just lost the battle. I know NO SURVIVORS who used only natural stuff. i have many more friends and acquaintances who are still alive because of, dare i say it? Big Pharma poison.

i'm the first to express my venom about how that particular industry enrages me with their profits-before-people immorality but when it comes to the number of drugs that have saved my life and permitted me to maintain a QOL that dissuades me from downing a handful of pain-meds and go to sleep forever... well what else can i say but good luck?

medical pot is great for pain relief, getting high is great fun and relieves stress, anxiety, etc etc. What it does NOT do and probably never will, is cure cancer. There are guys claim to bend spoons with mental energy. others think they can levitate. i was a "child of the 60s," dropped my share of acid, shrooms, even had a button of peyote once. i was sure i was God at one point. then i lost the job. lol

so i'll be following your journey very carefully. i do hope i'm wrong, truly hope i'm wrong... but i'd be remiss not to give you my story and opinions. again, good luck, may God bless all us cancer warriors. we should be honored today as veterans of a war most of society knows nothing about.

Between October 2014 and February 2015 I grew my own Sativa cannabis which gave a very low yield of oil, which was like a dark brown grease and I only needed a 2mg dose of raw oil each day for 8 mths ro get a very nice high at night for 5 hours but without any paranoia or other bad effects during the day. My Pca was under ADT suppression and Psa less than 1.0, but the cannabis should have been enough according to Dennis Hill, a biology guy from Texas, who claimed CBD oil fixed his stage 4 Pca.

The cannabis has ZERO effect on the Psa in blood tests every 3 months, and when I stopped eating the oil, life at night went back to being not high and there were no withdrawal symptoms. From what I see, nearly all ppl trying to sell cannabis oil make false claims about cancer cures to boost sales, and the petty corruption by little ppl growers is just as bad as anything Big Pharma does.

I only needed a tiny amount of C oil, enough to cover the head of a pin, 2mg, and Dennis said that if I got a high, the daily dose was enough to get a cure.

Now I doubt anyone has ever been cured of any cancer through use of C. The ppl who have relied only on alternative cures like C have mosty died, so they are not able to tell us that it does not work.

I had a biopsy as soon as Psa went over 5.0 in late 2009. 9 samples were taken, all were positive for "aggressive Pca, young man's variety" and Gleason score was 9.

4 months later in 2010 an open RP was attempted, but Pca had come out of capsule and covered nerves so docs could not cut PG out. They took more biopsy samples and 2 lymph noded, all were negative, so I began ADT which reduced size of PG and 6 mths later I had standard EBRT which did very little to kill Pca cells at PG.

I had more IMRT to PG in 2016, continued ADT, added Cosadex then added Zytiga and switched to Docetaxel 4 months ago but each treatment failed to keep Psa low. It was 12 before chemo, and 3 months later it was 42, and now I am having Lu177 infusions for countless mets in my bones and a number of lymph nodes elsewhere.

It is likely that the bone mets began long ago and were suppressed by ADT and they were not seen in any scans before mid 2017. The trouble with Pca is that it can spread from a very early time, and if the Pca does not make a high amount of Psa then by the time Psa goes over 5.0 when the medical system is advised to tell a man to be fully investigated, the cancer has spread everywhere and local treatment to PG can only remove a part of the cancer.

Some men told me they had the same treatment as I did and their Psa went down to zero and after 10 years it ws still zero. The cancer they had before surgery was a small volume which made a high Psa so they got the surgery early enough, and before it spread. But nearly 1/2 of surgery patients have Pca that has spread locally or to distant places, so they have a lifelong battle that can be extremely expensive, and there is no cure for any of these men. All a man can do is get the latest treatment to try get more time alive. I expect the Lu177 to give me more time alive, but how long I get is completely un-predictable.

In Australia where I live, Lu177 costs aud $40,000 for 4 injections over 6 months. I can't know if the Psa is going lower for another month. But if it rises, it may mean that Lu177 can't work. The doc has seen my PsMa Gallium68 PET - CT scans so he knows that I should be a patient for whom Lu177 should work OK. But medical outcomes can still be uncertain.

3 years ago, there was no Lu177 available here. But it seems it has arrived just in time for me to try.

If I last another 3 years, perhaps immune therapy will arrive as therapy available from a hospital somewhere and maybe its reliable and effective enough to be worth paying for. Hoo Noze what the future might be.

I had Lu177 last Thursday. I have not had any bad side effects yet. Today I cycled 20km, and swam 200M. I do have neuropathy side effects in my legs from Docetaxel chemo and I get swollen legs and feet, and now have to try using tight fitting stockings to stop what I think is lymph fluid gathering in the lowest parts of my body especially while sitting at a laptop and typing this story to you.

If anybody wishes to contact me privately for updates please feel free. But I am coming off this main messaging page. I have repeatedly asked for it not to turn into a cannabis oil debate and or negativity to no avail.

Survivors have had success stories with cannabis oil. Some combined with treatment, some their last hope and solely the oil. They have nothing to gain by sharing their stories, other than try and help people in their position. What works for one, won't for others. Many factors involved. Certain conventional treatments will work for some and not others....yet people still don't regard it as a waste of time. So why believe the oil is?

It is absolutely ludicrous the amount of comments I've had on my page with people who are telling me it won't work, doesn't work, and I even had one guy telling me my family member would die.

If you dont get your oil tested after its made then I am sorry but that is like taking a medication out of a blank packet and hoping for the best. So please do not state something will not work when you dont know what the medication you are taking contains. Various factors can affect a grow. If it isn't a high quality product, the oil won't be either. Even with some of the best grown plants the THC content isn't enough. So the right strains come into it aswell. The soil it is grown in etc. The only way to know for sure is to get your oil tested! If you haven't and it doesn't work for you please do not tell other people it is FACT it doesn't work. It is FACT that you have been relying on a medication when you dont know the strength of it or the ratios. Some people may get lucky without it being tested. But the majority won't. So please think about that before you tell people it is FACT.

I have NEVER seen any results of what tests have been done on cannabis oil that was supplied by someone else. It would be very difficult to get tests done here.

I do know two of my 3 nephews began taking and dealing indica from a grow-house supplier from age 12 onwards. They are now incurable schizoprenics.

The Indica grown is high yield with high THC and low CBD, leading to mental illness in young ppl who are prone to their impulsive urge to consume too much of everything.

Unfortunately, there is no convincing real evidence than any form of cannabis will cure cancer. It can be excellent medicine for a range of mental things such as epilexy etc.

In Jamaica, the use of cannabis is quite high but I think you might find their rates of prostate cancer are no less than in USA or Australia.

I'd welcome more research on Cannabis, and Israel experts were leaders on it and there is much to be read about it. We would all be taking cannabis if it really cured Pca, but hardly anyone takes it.

I have had ppl email me that i should consume a gram of cannabis oil daily, and that I need to buy a 60 gram bottle of it but they never say what they are selling has been diluted with canola or olive oil to reduce the strength by 1/1,000.

The cannabis oil sellers can be complete rip off merchants.

Nobody has a clue what they are buying.

My hope was that CB would reduce Pca because so many ppl said it would, and said it had cured them.

But I found no real evidence that Dennis Hill or Rick Simpson had ever been cured, and there was nobody I could trust.

So I happened to meet a guy who grew his own wild low yield sativa and he gave me a few seedlings from his back yard productions. From 30 plants, I got nine females that gave me 22gm of oil. It had THC, and also CBD because there were no bad sysmptoms you get from high THC + low CBD of the typical grow-house indica that hass been selectively bred up for last 30 years to provide criminals with a high income. The grow house junk is poisonous.

I might have had my oil tested, but how could I ever get it to conform to be chemically correct to cure Pca? Nobody seems to know.

I have never seen anyone report what tests thay have had done on their CB productions or on what they have bought online.

What I do know is that eating a gram of oil I grew might have caused a huge health problem including death even, because I could never get used to eating more than 5mg, ie 0.005 grams. And that was after taking it nightly for 8 months. I was well stoned with so little, and had I taken more I might have fallen over or had some other bother. Denis Hill said I only needed to eat enough to get high, and no more, and said one drop was plenty.

My experience is real, but I only know what is my truth about cannabis, and it had ZERO effect on the increasing Psa levels when it was low, and while on ADT.

I read that our immune systems make CBD and there's only so much the body needs, and boosting the level with cannabis does nothing.

The trouble with our immune system is that it fails to recognise the cancer as a rogue cell type and no action or nowhere near enough action is taken against the cancer; it is afterall, one of our own cells, and not a foreign invader.

Much research is now being done to get our immune systems to work against Pca et all but the progress is glacially slow because biology of the body and cancer is so monumentally complex.

I also found eating apricot kernals daily to get 24mg daily of amygdalin also had ZERO effect on Psa. The amygdalin was the active bitter tasting chemical and is easy to extract from almond kernels and in 1950 clinics gave up to 2,000mg ( 2 grams ) in daily infusions to fight cancer. The clinics used the extract they called Leatrile, and maybe a few clinics still give in Mexico. But Leatrile clinics were outlawed by medical regulators in USA. I know ppl also eat baking soda, and one doctor in Italy injected it. Nobody got cured.

25 years ago, a doctor Holt in WA tried using 430MHz radio waves to kill cancer. Many claimed they were cured, but nobody proved their claims, and nobody else found it worked.

My advice to anyone is to do what feels right even if it is quackery, but is benign, and has a feelgood effect, but don't ignore mainstream medicine.

I was told, after EBRT and 2 years of ADT had failed, that there was no cure for Pca, and so I will end up dead because of it. I hope the Lu177 delays it. Delaying death is about all I can ever achieve.

Its a nice day here, and side effects of my last week's Lu177 infusion have been mild, slight nausea, and slight leg swelling which is mainly long term effects of 5 infusions of Docetaxel which allowed Psa to go from 12 to 45 with no reduction of my countless bone mets. The chemo ceased 1 month before Lu177, but I don't know how long side effects will last. Gradually, as time goes by, the side effects of treatments all might build up, so that I degrade in general life functions and it combines with aging, so I have three enemies :-

aging, side effects, and cancer effects. I have outlived a sister and a father who both died of cancer at 60yo. I'm doing OK for a 71 yo bugger I reckon....

I'll do a cycle ride later today.......

yeppers, yer doing pretty damn good, riding a million miles a day, then going swimming for few more million. had supermarkets no shopping carts, i'd be in big trouble. so far, i'm ok pushing the non-motorized around, with about 5mg of vicodin or percoset in me, since it wasn't enuff to have 2 (maybe 4) kinds of cancer but i needed something more painful, so now have sciatica. ahhh, the fun never ends, folks!! another "blessing": my heart's been broken so many times that the AFib scar tissue prevents anymore love affairs. ok, i have no clue wtf i'm talking about anymore. gonna do some curls until my arms fall off, then maybe get some sleep.

i'm with you all the way, buddy - that article is all about the inefficacy of pot in curing cancer, which i totally believe. unfortunately, it's also over 4 years old... not that the latest research contradicts anything there.

pretty damn sad, but one thing i beg others to look for, even in NIH abstracts, in the conclusions: THE WORD "MAY" -- as in "we've concluded that CBD oil MAY be 88.6% effective in killing cancer cells" - the fact remains that it MAY NOT be ANY percent effective etc. etc. Other things to look for are whether the study/trial/test was done on lab rats or humans, were there control groups, or were the results observed from in vitro or in vivo subjects.

thanks for the input - seems yellowled may just delete this whole thread anyway, so good luck amigo!
