Hello all. Been on Lupron for a year. Switched Docs, he switched me to Trelstar. And comments on which is better? Any complications from switching? My PSA has been undetectable for a year.

No real difference.

They are both the same class of drugs (GnRH agonists). They have the same effects and side effects. You may want to discuss switching to the new oral pills, Orgovyx, that is now becoming available, if your drug plan covers it. It is a GnRH antagonist. Downside is not as much data on it.

They make more money by administering Trelstar, early on when I was seeing a urologist he wanted to switched too and that was the reason given - more profitable. I told him to stick with Lupron since it was working and he did. He works for you, you call the shots (no pun intended).
