I have not written in awhile...things are getting pretty bad. We were diagnosed in 2013 with stage 4. We have done Lupron pretty much continuously, removed prostate, radiation to area, Zytiga with Prednisone, Xofigo, and now Docetaxol. His PSA is over 2000. He is in pain everywhere....I am very scared. His children (my step children) dont seem to get it. He is walking with a walker. Doctors dont like to tell us how much time but would like some opinions on this. We completed genetic testing and dont have any matches to therapies. Anyone know about any clinical trial that we could try.... Does the consensus think he will make it to at least March 2021. His daughters is expecting twins! I am heartbroken to think he may not get to see them.... I am sorry if i sound like a whiner

It's hard for doctors to prognosticate even when they have scans and blood values in front of them, so it would be impossible for us to do so.
But you know it's bad. 2000 is a very high number, and pain is even more important. If you're going to try a clinical trial, you need to get on it because he is less likely to qualify each day that goes by. There are dozens of trials - search clinical trials site by your area and prostate cancer.
I have no idea how much time he has. His prognosis depends on how well he responds to chemo.
Chemo should help with the pain. Also, it is possible to get another cycle of Xofigo, perhaps with Provenge. It's a good idea to get a biopsy of one of his metastases - there may be some targeted therapies he can use.
I had a very good response to Docataxal and I found the side effects tolerable but they really zapped the little bastards and the pain stopped all together
Keep the faith like you keep your love..... He will see his twin grandchildren.... for many years... You're not a whiner......... my ex-wife is..............
BTW: A new federal law states: Children who don't seem to get it... can be sold to a circus...
