Husband diagnosed with APC in 2017 aged 49 yrs. Been through chemo, casodex, abiterone. PSA now rising after 10 months on Xtandi. Oncologist has suggested he is a good candidate for a clinical trial where his original samples are sent to USA for profiling. Unfortunately I was not able to be at this appointment and he did not ask questions... Anyone know what clinical trial oncologist is talking about?

Unfortunately men hate doctors.... and want to get out of the exam room asap.....Morale of the story: always attend his appointments.....

Here's a link to some currently Recruiting Prostate Cancer Clinical Trails being researched specifically in the UK. If you explore their UK locations and study areas, you may be able to narrow-down your search for the particular Clinical Trial he was offered.

Has he ever had genetic profiling? There are few genetic mutations that respond well with PARP inhibitors. For example, men with BRCA1/2 seemed to respond well to niraparib or olaparib treatments. These are next generation drugs that target specific mutations. I have not looked for clinical trials pertaining to these for a couple of years now because for the past 2.5 years I have responded well with anbiraterone. I have negative findings on gene mutations that affect PC growth.

I was on Xtandi several years ago it worked for awhile then numbers started climbing rapidly. I did the LU 177 phase 2 trial that worked very well. My numbers started climbing again 6 months ago I am now in a clinical trial with Xtandi and ADZ 4635. I am having a lot of nausea for about 2 hrs after dosing but my numbers are coming down at a slow rate but we’ll take it. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Hi, were you continuing with xtandi while under Lu177 dosage? Any major side effects? My father's PSA is slowly rising after one and half year on xtandi. He had chemo, radiation and surgery in past.
