Doxycycline Vitamin C Anti Cancer Synergy Eradicates Cancer Stem Cells?

When I was diagnosed with G score 9 (4+5) PCa (08/2017) I thought that daily 1000 mg vitamin C can help to fight this disease, but just 15 months after RRP surgery, I got a BCR.

After PSA increasing for 4 consecutive months to 0.15 I started SRT 38 sessions to the prostate bed plus 6 monthly injections of Firmagon. Last Firmagon injection was October 2019 and I was left with severe fatigue and depressed mod.

I stopped vitamin C before starting SRT because of the antioxidants effect.

I will have my PSA test soon but most likely I will get back to ADT therapy.

I suggest you review Jane McLelland's book “How to Starve Cancer”. She treated herself with doxycycline in combination with vitamin C and arrested her cervical cancer. Salford University in the UK are active in this research space.

I refer to Jane and this therapy in my new 3rd Edition PCa book on Amazon.

In what form are you taking your vitamin C? In reviewing the article ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... that I think your graphic is drawn from, the authors discuss several quite high serum levels, implying that higher is better. The higher levels can only be achieved with IV C (and possibly liposomal). The lower doses achieved by taking it orally won't get you there. My understanding is that one of the benefits of reaching the higher concentrations is that at that level vitamin C becomes an oxidant. This creates a hydrogen peroxide reaction that normal cells can deal with and some cancers cannot. Also, other posts have pointed to work being done that indicates timing of the doxycycline dose can be an important variable in maximizing the effectiveness of this combination.

In all that's a really promising article. The idea of boxing the cancer stem cells into a metabolic dead end is a great strategy. Hope they (and you) can make it work. Please keep us posted.

And what specifics of this timing?

Thank you for the post Ralph. Killing CSCs is what needs to be done. Considering you're dealing with BCR, IV C can't hurt. You might ask your MO about additional serum testing for CTCs. Please check out Biocept CTC test.
