Intravenous Vitamin C

Along with standard of care for Stage IV, I am doing a 50 gram infusion of Vitamin C twice weekly. Seems to have some solid science behind it.

The Riordan Clinic has been doing this for decades and they appear to have it figured out. The good news is that they freely share their protocol. riordanclinic.org/research-...

Very safe and near zero side effects if you hydrate well before during and after.

But it is pricey. Anyone know if intravenous Vit. C for PCa covered under Medicare?

I did the C iv’s religiously my first two yrs like you twice weekly . now I do it once a month. I’ve been clear so far 31/2 out of 4 yrs with APC. Hope that your are also on the holistic diet . Gi-Gong is great for us too...Keep rolling .. All out of pocket for me it has been .. but the benefits outweigh the cost . I’m still here.. Take care .

That's great! I am on a ketogenic (very low carb) diet.

What do you mean by "I've been clear of APC" mean? Metastasis gone? PSA below zero?

in reply topakb

Yes Sir , by some miracle , no visible signs of PC and Psa undetectable . How long will it last . Nobody knows that one. I physically worked over pretty well . After 4 yrs of castration and no T I’m running at about 25 % of my original strength stamina and abilities .. so yes ,no signs for now. In the eye of the storm , knowing that I must face the otter wall at some point . Live for the day . Peace to you pakb . Good luck .

Congratulations but how do you know it’s the vitamin c that caused these great results and not the ADT route?

Thanks and good luck

in reply toStayingOptimistic

I didn’t say that c caused these great results . But I’m convinced it helped along with adt ,RT and everything else I’ve done .

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of IV high-dose vitamin C as a treatment for cancer, hence no insurance coverages.

Some guys just moved in next to my work in a remote rural town and opened a place with an oxygen bar and hyperbaric oxygen machine. A good one. Go figure, lol.

Debating on whether to lay out the coin.

in reply toArthur479

How much does it cost ?

Arthur479 profile image

In Florida it depends where you live IF you have natural health type businesses/doctors. About $185 to $225/session depending on how many you commit to in your contract. I paid the $185/session for 12-sessions and they threw in a free session since I was their second patient having IVC in the area. They do them now, but they do not market it in public like their other hormone male ED services.

We paid 30US$ for each 10 grams Vitamin C IV (100mL bottle) infusion from PharmaLife Laboratories

in reply tolaur_27

Yes, I too paid $150 bi- weekly for each 50 grams . I did this one and a half years solid. It helped me climb out of my deep urological nightmare. This with imrt and double adt took my PC away and allowed me to rid the tubes foley and stents . We moved 300 miles from my nat dr last year so I’m not doing the c right now . If or when I ever enter the field with of again I’ll go back on the c for sure . You two look so very young. I’m sorry that he too got his foot in this trap . peace to you both ! Scott 🌵

Makes me feel better about doing the Vit-C .. Thanks Nal .

I switched my regular 1000 mg vitamin C to the Liposomal type ( more expensive ) same dosage daily. Someone here told me that it is as effective as the IVC infusions.

No! That isn't possible. IV Infusion bypasses the digestive system.

The vitamin C molecule is so close to sugar's molecule that it registers on diabetic test strips. Diabetic test strips are used where I have my infusions. A gram is a gram. Again, infusion bypasses the digestive system. You would have to take 50, one gram pills to match the standard 50,000 mg infusion which would then need to be digested and absorbed into your blood to circulate. An infusion of 50,000 mgs occurs over either side of an hour and is easily controlled by the rate of drip. Oral supplementation to complement the infusions is sensible.

It is my understanding that chemo kills cancer cells and also the immune system. Japan has for decades "prescribed" PSK to be taken by chemo patients. PSK is derived from the Turkey Tail mushroom. Beta glucans to boost the immune system -- or what is left of it after chemo. The interesting thing--chemo kills cancer cells but not cancer stem cells. Cancer stem cells have the ability to cross the blood brain barrier as does vitamin C. An ex who is a cancer nurse told me that it isn't uncommon for a patient that has had chemo--that she infuses into them--to be declared free of cancer and within a year to have brain cancer. That happened to my neighbor and a fellow IV drip friend who now goes 3X weekly as a preventative after successful radiation treatment.

As one doing the vitamin -C iv’s , I agree they are nowhere near the same as pills . Commonly used by naturalpathics for all cancers .

You can make your own liposomal Vit-C and save a great deal of money. Do a search on YouTube and you will find many of them. You can adjust the process yourself. It's better than powder-C and you can boost your Vit-C intake. The body needs much more daily than we take in from foods/eating. By the way, if you go the route to make your own, you can also use the jewelry cleaning equipment to make your own liposomal Glutathione. You can run a search as well for the recipe. That's what I have been doing and it works great. You can make quarts of the stuff and keep in your refrigerator.

Hey Nalakrats,

I have had many IVC infusions and LIVE O2 sessions. I also had maybe 14 to 16 chelation treatments which were composed of EDTA, some vitamin C and B vitamins. You must have accessed the Tact Study.

I consider the IVC, and LIVE O2 to have been very beneficial. Chelation was important for me for heavy metals including gadolinium that we all have if we have had an MRI with contrast.

I think many are swayed by these 'protocols' through anacedotal experience or testament. I have one to. My best friend 12 years back forsook all APC SOC for a series of over the counter self trials all the while taking huge IV doses of vitamin C. He died 8 months in....without ever subscribing to ADT or the like. Don't confuse random co administration of questionable health supplements taken along with powerful multi trialed pharms. Your conclusions may be tainted by what I call the full moon fallacies. I too take such an additive without the backing of serious scientic proof, it gives me comfort I'm doing everything SAFELY possible to treat this well proven lethally serious disease.... but I do not by any equivocation confuse the two.

in reply toJbooml

I also have a friend who refused ADT for some quack doctor's program and died soon after. I went to his funeral while on ADT myself, surviving PCa while mourning the death of a friend who did not. It was sad irony, not lost on those who knew that I had it. We often only hear about the anecdotal success stories, but not the failures. That's why we need science-based treatments. I know, there's a lot to hate about greedy big-pharma, but they are saving my life so far. Yes, they are taking my money, but I can't take it with me.

I know that this is the darling of alternative/complementary doctors. Medicare will not likely cover it due to the lack of convincing evidence that it helps.

"Two studies tried to reproduce earlier results. These studies were randomized, placebo-controlled trials in which cancer patients received either 10 g oral vitamin C or placebo daily until signs of cancer progression. At the end of each study, no significant differences were noted between the two ascorbate-treated and placebo-treated groups for symptoms, performance status, or survival.[5,6]" [cancer.gov/about-cancer/tre...]

Some respondents rage about the corrupt FDA. There may be collusion and corruption in the relationship between FDA, Congress and Big Pharma. What about the corrupt physicians who charge directly for unproven treatments on vulnerable populations who would "do anything" for a promise of cure?

Arthur479 in reply todadzone43

Of course it didn't help. You need more C than the body can absorb through the digestive system. In addition, IV C by itself is not going to perform miracles, it is the combination of approaches that is needed, including standard of care. Kind of like in a war, you can't win with solely air, sea or land forces, and even each of these need a variety of weapons. This stuff is complex.

I do a variety of strategies after careful research and consultation with my onc.
