What’t yhe latest on generic Zytiga in the US? Available? Prescribed? Cost less than Zytigs? I know there’s a product out there called (something like) “Yonsa” but I think that’s as expensive as Zytiga. I’m a long termer: orig. PC in 2000 mets (spine & illiac crest) discovered in 2015. Since then Zytiga/prednisone and Lupron. This is keeping the beast at bay quite well so far. I’m 70.

I'm getting generic Zytiga: Abiraterone Acetate 250 mg from Mylan, which is packaged with 120 250 mg tablets with same instructions as Zytiga.
You can contact Mylan and/or CareMed Specialty Pharmacy about the generic Zytiga. Someone here posted a generic Zytiga sourced from India, search to find post.
Not on medicare actually. On wife’s commercial plan. Pay up to $6000 out of pocket then fully covered. So $6000 a year at least. I’m afraid that will doubr or moer when we have to go on medicare.
It's definitely available. My pharmacy tried to switch me on my last refill, said the script for the brand name had expired. Between my questioning them and a call to my MO office I had the Zytega delivered a few days later as normal.
Maybe it would make no difference, but I believe in the adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
When I picked up my first Zytiga refill of the year the hospital pharmacist told me the copay for the generic was $1000 more than the brand. So I took the brand and I paid $2700. I paid that last January and $540 a month thereafter. She said generic was so new that insurers haven’t figured out the pricing yet. Will see what next refill brings.
Accredo/Express Scripts switched me to the generic automatically because my prescription didn't specify. Didn't notice since I'd hit my out of pocket max for the year so there was no copay. I had copay assistance through Janssen so when I went to refill in Jan they wouldn't ship because my copay was so high (they assumed my assistance card was expired but it had been extended). So I made them put me back on the name brand for the assistance program. Then discovered my insurance charged me a $2700 penalty for not taking the generic, which I'll be talking to them about very soon.
Kaiser Permanente of Colorado charged me $1,400 for my refill in January of last year. This year, using the generic, it was $600. Before you gasp, know that I'm taking 500 mgs a day, not 1,000. More than that troubles my liver. And yes to Medicare.
Generic aribetarone acetate is available in the US but who knows for how long and it is such a confusing mess. Mine is prescribed specifically as generic. Seems to work with no prob. I take 4x250mg/day + 5mg + 5mg pred/day. Zytiga is not covered under generic and would cost me $10k/mo but generic is and copay is $10/mo plus $4/mo for the pred. Since starting I feel better, no bad side effects that I know of so far. Started SRTx39 yesterday.
I use Walgreens AllianceRX and they fed ex to me every two weeks but I have to order each time. So far so good.

I use Walgreen's AllianceRX also for my monthly Xtandi supply. I have medicare & BC/BS insurance too and get my Xtandi for $50 a month. Next stop is Zytiga for me, very happy with this pharmacy but it takes 5 to 10 minutes on the phone every month to answer all verification questions but that's the least of my problems.

Yes, I find all the people one has to speak to invariably pleasant and genuinely at least trying to help me. I understand the system there is somewhat baroque so one must be a diligent self-advocate, as always. I always remember that whatever problem i’m In is certainly not their doing but they may well be the key to my way out.
