On Zytiga 4 yrs . sweats, tiredness side effects. Original PSA 640. To date PSA and Test are negligible. Quarterly blood tests and Trelstar intramuscular injection twice a year.

Problem sleeping some nights, want to try melatonin for sleep but not sure if any reaction with Zytiga?

Hi Nala,

Got Melatonin 5 mg Gummies, Valerian Root 530 mg Capsules and Sleepytime tea, will try and let you know how it goes for me.

Although, would think, if "high anxiety", then this could counter effect sleeping aides...

Bunker,

I am on Zytiga and took a valerian product which the PharmD thought may have caused my ALT/AST elevation. I am due for a retest next week after being off the product for several weeks. My advice here is check with your MD and watch your LFT's. There are cases of liver toxicity with valerian, but rare. See below:

You may do fine.

All the best,

Fish

You didn't mention it so I thought I would ask, are you also taking Prednisone with your Zytiga? The reason I ask is because I wanted to ensure I was taking the medications at times that would be most effective. And then my oncologist asked me "how are you sleeping?". I admitted to him that I hadn't been sleeping very well at night. He then asked when I was taking my Prednisone. I told him I was taking it at night before I went to sleep. He told me that Prednisone interrupts sleep and that I should take it either late afternoon or early evening. I don't know if any of that applies to you, just my two cents worth.
