Sleep issues on Taxotere??

Update on my dad-he has been feeling great on Taxotere up until about 4days ago. His Alk Phos has been declining steadily and PSA has been steady. About 4 days ago he started having a lot of issues sleeping. He has only slept a handful of hours the past 3 nights. Today he is suppose to have his 5th chemo treatment but he is lethargic and slurring his words and extremely fatigued. Has anyone else had issues with sleep on Taxotere? He is complaining about some pain in his hips and legs but nothing different than what usually bothers him. I think most of his issues are from lack of sleep.

I had issues with sleep but attributed it to the Prednisone I had to take with the infusion. Only had sleep issues while on the steroid.

The dexamethasone tablets I took day before and day of chemo gave me total insomnia for 3 days. A real zombie. Otherwise usual up every couple of hours during the night. A few times I have slept 6 hrs. in a row in the last two years. Those are cherished memories. If he is slurring his words I would call dr. or emergency ASAP.

while I was doing Chemo (Taxotere)...I was using about 3 drops of cannabis oil under my tongue every night before bedtime...and I slept amazingly well.

if you can get it...it really helped me..

Sleep.. had to learn to gets by without it. Clonazepam lets me get up to 6 hrs sometimes. Have seen PCP and tried 9 varieties of sleep aid without help. When I worked (I retired first of Nov.) Clonazepam was on company no use list but now can use it.. Hot flashes still wake me during the night... Only 4 times last night and only peed twice. Seems to be part of the new normal for my life.

It’s tough, he is having a rough time. I hope you can find something that helps you as well.
