I am new to this disease and to this site. Was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. Gleason score 9 and PSA 233. Bone Scan and CT Scan show significant Metastasis. Working with Christ Hospital in Cincinnati where biopsy was performed. Oncologist there started me on Lupron shots, Zytiga and Prednisone. I feel that this "active surveillance" approach is too passive for me. In my research, I ran across the Dattoli Cancer Center in Sarasota. Small operation (only 2 doctors) but all they do is treat prostate cancer. Website is impressive and they seem personalized and aggressive. They boast the "Best Published Prostate Cancer Cure Rate In The World". Has anyone had any experience with them, either good or bad? Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Your current treatment is not “active surveillance”. Lupron , Zytega and prednisone is heavy stuff and state of the art. It was just 2017 when the latest trials showed that early use of lupron with Zytega Reduced deaths by over 40%. I’d ask about adding Celebrex with zometa which in combo were shown to reduce deaths over 20%. Any facility the “best cure Rate .....in the world “ is lying if they are talking about stage 4 prostate cancer cures. While some facilities now think that early and aggressive treatments Could achieve long term remission and perhaps even a cure, there is no legitimate doctor making the claims you say this place is. Find the best facility of excellence near you (the people on this site will help) and get a second opinion.
I believe that many of Dr. Myers' patients were treated by Dattoli.
However, there was a falling out after Myers commented on aggressive treatment causing immune system suppression comparable to AIDS in some patients treated by Dattoli. There is a Myers vlog post on this.
Closer to Cincinnati, you have Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt, and Henry Ford. Seek out a medical oncologist, not a radiation oncologist. The internet is full of hype.
My husband was treated there. He had a very good outcome in 2012 there. His cancer has not shown back up yet as of his psa this week. We were and are very pleased with the services at Datolli for Elgie. I did know of someone... like Patrick wrote about though... with this aggressive treatment compromising their immune system.
