A year into all this I still have many questions . I found out have de novo prostate cancer December of 2021 ,a PSA of1316 rising to over 1600 at the start of my treatment. Bone scan showed widespread bone metastasis suggestive of a supper scan no gleason score given ,biopsy done on hip bone to verify cancer, I have been getting Degarelix once a month Abiraterone started in March My PSA is now down to .014 bone scans show no progression I wish I knew what kind of prostate cancer I have or may be this would not be help full. So i will just keep on keeping on . working again and feeling good ,looking forward to my 72 birthday.

You have ordinary PCa- high PSA that responds well to hormonal agents.
why don’t you have your Gleason score
No need after metastases.

Might not technically be a *NEED*, but for myself when/if scans eventually show that I've finally entered into the realm of MPCa, having my biopsy results that the tumor in the right half of my prostate was GL10 would simply answer the question - "duh🤔 - where'd that come from?"
Why is that important for you? Would it make a difference to you if a previous biopsy only found Gleason 8? Or Gleason 6? What really is the difference what grade used to be in the prostate, or was detected by a random biopsy back then?

After giving your question some thought, the only reason I could come up with is ---
BECAUSE IT'S MY BODY AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO ME!!!
AND FYI -- My transperineally performed biopsy in May 2015 was a 3Dimension Prostate MAPPING Biopsy by Dr. Gary Onik under a General in a hospital OR and yielded over 100 core samples for pathology resulting in GL10.
There are many things in your body that you have no knowledge of, in fact, most things. Some anxious individuals have full body MRIs and find out about every cyst and anatomic abnormality that have no importance. There are blood tests for thousands of different biochemicals that have no importance. A full list of everyone's SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) of unknown significance could run into the millions. We don't know all the millions of bacteria in our guts, urinary tract and skin. Yet you say - it's important to you. I again ask - why?
Congrats on getting your psa down. We all have different kinds of prostate cancer. There is no such thing as normal.
Aye , aye , yardsailor! I’d say that you are a darned miracle . From 1600 down to .014 ? That’s fantastic ! Working and feeling good at 72 ! Yah! Oh yah! Keep rolling guy! God bless🙏
Happy 72nd Birthday..................... caution.... don't let the gorilla kiss you...
