Zinc Inhibits AR Expression.....Update On Nalakrats Exposes Himself

The question is how much to take. I am taking 30mg because I read somewhere that to much zinc can suppress immune function.

Nalakrats recently posted a pic of himself. What Nal forgot to mention is the pic is over 10 years old and before he started taking huge doses of Gator Blood. Nal's daughter, Lizarda sent me a recent pic of Nal doing push ups...looks like Gator Blood had a massive side effect

I use 50 mg zinc citrate.

Go for a good brand (it will still be cheap) - zinc is often contaminated with cadmium.

What does "inhibits Expression of Androgen Receptor" actually mean in layman's, real people that don't quite understand this medical stuff (even if they Google it) terms?

thank you

Re: "inhibits Expression of Androgen Receptor"

The androgen receptor [AR] continues to be the major target with PCa. When androgen binds to it, it can move to the nucleus & promote progression.

A response to ADT is for the cell to create more AR. This is what is meat by expression. Anything that inhibits expression is to be welcomed.

So...it's a good thing then to supplement zinc, given our PCa, even though it's believed to somewhat enhance testosterone levels? I thought ADT was to kill off pretty much all testosterone but zinc would be something to increase it...I would like to supplement zinc, especially in the winter cold/flu season but have been fearful it would make my PSA go up and counter the radiation treatment I had 2 years ago; I work out with somewhat heavy weights and that increases testosterone as it is.

Thank you

Zinc deficiency is never a good idea. Adequate zinc will help a man produce the testosterone [T] he is supposed to make. Unless on ADT, I feel that it is better to have normal T than very low T. Zinc is unlikely to give T a huge boost anyway.
