Great news. I was originally DX in November 2014 PSA 209 with pelvic bone mets and still have been able to stay at <0.02 42 months later with monthly injection of Firmagon and 50 MG of Casodex daily. I often wonder if switching to Zytiga or Xtanti instead of Casodex will extend my life. My Dr. thinks that as long as Casodex keeps working to stay on it before considering Zytiga and/or Xtanti
PSA 209 originally 42 months ago now ... - Advanced Prostate...
PSA 209 originally 42 months ago now undetectable still

Interesting thought. I mentioned this to my MO also. He suggested getting off Casodex but I initially tried that route (off Casodex) the 3rd month after my 2014 DX and PSA shot up from undetectable to 0.15.. He put me back on Casodex and I have been undetectable since. He is not suggesting I discontinue Firmagon however. I think that a second opinion from another MO is in order for me. I really need to get off HT even for a short while so my bones etc. can recover. However, a "scared" part of me tells me to stay the course.
If you are having bone density problems, Zometa or Xgeva may be worth considering. If you decide to, ask for Celebrex with it.
I did 30 months of Lupron and Casodex with last shot on 03/31/17. PSA ticking up(PSA 840 at Dx in 01/2015 and got to 0.1), so MO trying 150mg/day Casodex for now and will restart Lupron for a future course of Tx
my psa rise was only after 4 months from the start of HT and only after he took me off Casodex. Once I had a small rise he put me back on Casodex and I have been undetectable 3 years + later
I would ride the horse your on for as long you can before beginning Zytiga.
