Still undetectable 56 months after DX w/ original 209 PSA and bone mets..

Hi all;

Great news today still showing a PSA of <0.02. I never ever thought that this would have been possible after my initial horrific DX let alone that I would still be alive. Still on the monthly injection of Firmagon (which I hate) and daily 50 mg of Casodex. I do have to admit that the side effects of the HT sucks some days, but others I feel totally normal.

I hope that my good luck so far brings some hope to others.

Stay well

Excellent news! I love to hear stories like that.

If you're not already on a regular exercise program, I recommend it. It does a lot to mitigate the tiredness side effect of ADT. Surprisingly, the loss of libido and potency caused by ADT can sometimes be partly overcome just by attempting to have sex. Do it for your wife or partner and, when she gets sufficiently aroused, you may find a completely unexpected but very welcome response of your own. In the worst case, it's a win. In the best case, it's a win-win.

Good luck.

Alan.

Yeah, I hope all of us can successfully hold the beast off. So far I have been very lucky to have been able to keep at at bay with just the HT injection and one 50 mg pill of Casodex per day. A lot easier regiment to tolerate than Xtanti or Zytiga..My Dr. told me that he has a guy going close to 20 years now on the same regiment. His cancer is still there but just not progressing. We can all only hope that we are also that lucky..Stay well all

How is your T level doing with firmagon ?

Consistently low 7-10. Pros and cons to that as we all know. Keeps the cancer under control but messes everything else up. Zero libido, periods of fatigue, osteopenia ,started Prolia last December as a result etc. etc..
