Hi everyone. So as I put in another post that I had a meds reveiw last Saturday, I have got to say it really has changed everything for me...I always describe my adhd as radio interference, I can slight hear the radio station but its just out of tune crackling...now my meds have been altered, same dose just split up differently, the radio is now tuned in and ive not had this much peace since diagnosed and I can now pick and choose what I want to think about...my sensory is a lot better Im not picking up on anything around me this last week...I'm up and out the door ON TIME never done that before lol...my sleep is deeper and more refreshing...I'm eating better...I have finally got the switch feeling/effct...its finally under my control...I really am so much more content and clear headed...I even had a 2hr conversation with my son...this is very important to me as at one stage he couldn't even bare to breath the same air as me...things really have changed...my biggest problem now is the crash...jeezus do I go down like a ton shit...what's ppls ideas on crashing?...like how to mitigate it...I find my vitamins help but I don't take them till later in the evening.
Finally!! The radio interference has ... - CHADD's Adult ADH...
Finally!! The radio interference has gone but the crash is even harder

I hear this! I don't have an answer, but I'm experiencing a crash too...and I have absolutely nothing left for my kid when he gets home from school.
On another note, you mentioned having a long conversation with your son - that was one of the first things I noticed too! I had no idea how much I was struggling with conversations. Thanks for sharing that.
Just to add to my reply...I found a large dose (1000mg) of vitamin C helps to shorten the crash by flushing the meds into your urine... yes my adhd brain comes back and I talk for England but I'm not just a heap of mess...try this if your OK with vitamin C...plenty on information on how Vit C cancels out stimulants...I was taking vit C in the morning then wondered why my meds wasn't working effectively...now I take it when I start to crash lessening the horrible feeling...also magnesium, zinc, b12, iron and vitamin C get pretty depleted on amphetamines so it's super important to top these up in the evening...also electrolytes pay a big part in transporting them nutrients into the blood system...let me know if this works for you too.
what meds are you on? Im on Elvanse 40mg but i think i need stronger! I still feel full of fear, vv depressed and no motivation at all! I just feel overwhelmed all the time by the amount of stuff i need to do on a daily basis. Cant do anything..then i beat myself up for not even trying
I'm currently on 10mg dexamphetamine first thing on waking... then 60mg elvanse around 9am...another 10mg dexamphetamine around 2pm...I'm on a months trial for this and I'm really finding it to work...we all work differently so some meds adjustments are necessary...make an accountability list...I do this when I have a lot on...so do your necessary list ie, take meds, remember to eat and drink...then important things like need to go to doctors...then find something that you enjoy, add that somewhere, anywhere and put it on the list as self care...for maybe 20 mins, drawn, paint, go for a walk ect...then add the ones that arnt important and if they don't get done, then that's ok...there's always tomorrow...breaking it down for myself keeps me motivated...hope this helps you sound like your going through it at the moment
Can you split your dose? I have found that made all the difference - I'm on Elvanse and I have 40mg in the morning and 20 at mid day
Yes mine are split into 3 doses...first 10mg dexamphetamine to help kick me up the arse first thing...then 60mg elvanse to get me through the day...then another 10mg dex so I can finish my day without crashing too early...I have done a little research on this... so 70mg elvanse is the equivalent to 20mg dexamphetamine once metabolized but this is slowly released through out the day...dexamphetamine is very fast released around 20-60mins...booster doses has changed everything...I need alarms still but I'm in the flow of it now so I never forget them and it has really quieted my brain down... this helps brain fog, I can hold conversations ect...I'm beginning to weigh up the pros and cons and if the big crash means I get a good day then so be it...let's not be so hard on ourselves 😉
