I have always been what I referred to as hyper, type A, etc. Over 30 years ago I had an overactive thyroid which I received radiation treatment for and put on Synthroid generic since. My thyroid levels have been fine since.

I currently work for a psychologist doing part time clerical work. After working closely with him for over a year he suggested I get checked out for Adult ADHD.

I am always flitting from one thing to another and my concentration and short term memory are bad. Have all the classic signs I read about including mood swings, anxiety, etc.

I've been on Bupropion XL for anxiety for about 2 years. Not sure if it is helping.

Looking forward to this group.

Welcome hotstuff359! This is an awesome community to get advice, suggestions, encouragement, and more. Since joining this group, I've felt less isolated - more seen. It's just good to know we're not alone in this experience!

Have you gotten an official diagnosis yet?

I don't know whether my employer, with a doctorate in pyschology qualifies as someone who gave me an official diagnosis. He told me to see my PCP and get his opinion which I intend to do. Is this the correct route to getting diagnosed? Meds for ADHD? Or should I head directly to a psychiatrist?

Not what you're looking for?
