Resources or tools for self-improvement with ADHD?

When looking for help about being more productive, people sometimes mention a variety of tools that they heard about from How To ADHD or some other source. I feel kind of overwhelmed why I think about trying to find and research these things on my own.

So, I was wondering if anyone could list some of these tools. Of course, if there's a fairly comprehensive list that already exists through a different post, a link to that would be perfect as well.

I'm essentially looking for some way to find new tool and evaluate them to see if they're a good fit, or at least try them out.

I just started really researching and studying so my list is kind of short, but so far, I’ve tried out bullet journals. I might be going overboard, but I’ve made several. One for meals, one for cleaning and one for ideas, notes and journaling. I like the freedom it gives you. It doesn’t tell you, you tell it. Anyway, on the cleaning journal, I basically have a morning and before bed list and I made a grid and lined up the days of the week on it. This way I can check off The things that are important for me to get done each day. I chose things that would directly benefit my environment. So if you want to feel more in control write a checklist that helps you get things done by providing instant gratification when you check it off. But make it simple. If you find that it is becoming intimidating or just annoying, start looking for what tasks are priority and get rid of the unnecessary. Do you have a tool you are already using that you would recommend?

I also keep bullet journals! If I am calm enough to engage with them, they're great! I used to have many journals for different topics. Now, I allow myself to use my bullet journals as a record of my life and keep everything in one which means I'm burning through journals every 3 months but also it reduces my anxiety and I don't have to carry all my journals on me every time I go out (which I WILL do just in case).

I've found the front matter that comes with many journals to be annoying and much prefer to make my own table of contents AND an index in the back. I use them for separate purposes esp. because I also use my journal to track important things about my friends and people I interact with and also as a book of shadows for my spiritual practices.

I HIGHLY recommend journaling as a coping mechanism even if a bullet journal is too intensive for someone. Journals won't judge me and my very secret thoughts!

I just reviewed the WEB MD site and they had a set of very comprehensive and not overwhelming slide shows on self management covering diet, hyperfocus triggers, and factors and how to deal with them to improve executive functions. I was very impressed Might want to check them out, may have to subscribe but I have found this a good resource for many health issues.😌
