podcasts for kids?

Does anyone know if there are any podcasts about navigating ADHD that are intended for kids? I’m learning so much from all the pods I’ve found for parents- I think it would be great to have one geared to kids.

Following as I’d love to know too. I feel like it would be wonderful for my son to be able to learn the information that will help him to understand how his brain works, strategies etc from an external App rather than me.

I think so too!

I would love to know this as well....very important for teens to have that support from other teens because they are sooooo done with listening to adults explain what would work for them. Super interested in knowing if this exists for ADHD teens.

Thanks for posing the question!

Hey there, I did some research in google and most of the podcasts available are for parents, the only one I was able to find specifically for children was Journey With Me Through ADHD: A podcast for kids- Katelyn Mabry.

Yes I’ve listened to a handful of episodes this morning (they are short which is great for kids) and I like it. Will share with my kiddo!

I agree! I have heard the YouTube series How to Adhd is good for older kids or teens. I would love to hear about a podcast for younger kids.

I will check out YouTube- good idea. I find that space a little overwhelming- so much going on! Yes it would be nice to have a pod or show dedicated to younger kids and tweens. Mine is 10 so I will have to weed through what is more age appropriate for him.

I agree, and screens are activating for my kid. I just found this and she has short 5 min episodes that I'm going to try with my daughter. We'll see! podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...

3 you tube channels that I highly recommend no matter the age are the one you stated, the holderness family, and adhd_love. They are great short videos that are honest about the issues and help kids learn in a fun way. The love one is great for girls with adhd. Holderness family is more fun though.

I love the holderness family. They do such a good job with education in a fun way!

Such a good idea! I hope “the adhd guys podcast” was one of those useful ones for you. It’s definitely one of the best resources I’ve found & because I can listen to it on my way to work - it’s doable.

I also avoid YouTube for myself, but also screen time at home is just not worth it for my son. However the lady who makes the “how to adhd” videos has released a book. She reads it as an audiobook & I’m also listening to this as I drive. It is currently free on Spotify. It is very structured and she breaks it up into bite sized chunks purposely, so you can select chucks to listen to. She is a lady with ADHD & I think “lived experience” content can be an absolute minefield, but so far, I find her content high quality & she brings in research (often from Dr Russell Barkley). I must admit at the moment, I’m probably getting the most out of it for the adults in our home, and much of the examples applies to adult life- but if you listen, there might be something useful for a teen? (Or it could help direct you to a particular you tube video of hers).

Nice - I will check out the book for sure. And yes the ADHD guys podcast is great. It’s taken over as my main listen for now. I really like their perspective and how they break things down.

Also, I have a friend who has enrolled her kids with ADHD in Outschool classes that are geared to building certain skills in kids with ADHD. She has found that they are great because it creates an online peer group who talk about what it's like to live with ADHD as a kid and they also work on building strategies together. (e.g., executive function like organizing your schoolwork, setting up your homework zone, etc.). I haven't tried it for our family yet... and it's not free... but wanted to put it out there for those who may be interested.
