Rlawlordann1- Welcome to the group, we are happy you found us! There are so many amazing opportunities here on the list. Not only are there parents, guardians, grandparents but there are also people who have ADHD here to support, care about you and send you positive feedback when you feel down. We have all been where you are today. This is a journey and some days are great and other days I have been in tears. If you have time and you are curious you can go back and read some of the posts to gain more known age about the struggles and outcomes.

We are here for you, please reach out when you need us.

Take care! Big hugs...

No, no....don't feel lost and alone, you are in the right place! Everyone here has been where you are! Did you get the diagnosis through a pediatrician? I highly recommend getting a pediatric psychiatrist or nurse practitioner on board. They will be better able to guide you with both diagnoses. Also, if your daughter is in school request a meeting with them as soon as you can.

Now. take a deep breath. It is shocking and troubling and stay up at night worrying, but you WILL be ok and so will she.

HUGSSS!!!

Thank you so much! We got an evaluation by a psychologist when she was 3. Started ADHD meds when she was 3 1/2 but recently in November started seeing a Intergrative functional medicine doctor and got all kinds of tests done and a ton of supplements. Seeing some improvement but hopefully there will be more in 6 months.

Thank you for understanding

Definitely not alone. This is a great group to receive support from. My son has ADHD, Autism, and severe anxiety, so I’m right there with you. I know it feels like you’re alone in this, but you really are part of a large community. If you ever need to vent or chat feel free to reach out to me.

I felt the same way when my son was diagnosed at 5 years old. Two years later and I still feel that way sometimes. It helps to gather a team of professionals who truly understand ADHD. And this group has been incredibly supportive. Hang in there-you can do this.

I am so sorry you are going through this, but you are not alone. You will get a lot of support and encouragement from HealthUnlocked. I have a grandson who is 3 and currently going through testing. I will be praying for you and your family.

Gm I understand. I Have 3 kids with adhd and all of them had it as early as k3. They are now 17, 12, 7. The 17yr old i didn't medicate because i didnt believe in medication. I thought punishments and whooping would do the trick. Now he's failing in school in trouble with the law don't listen. Dont understand he needs to be medicated. Not trying to research his disorder. I had to tell him just because you don't take medicine dont mean you don't have it. The other 2 is great. Very very few phone calls from school but they are kids. They are proficient in school but the 7 yr old i have to watch her shes sneaky and always into stuff the 12 yr old cant remember to follow directions and stay focused. Now bout 7pm the meds wore off thats the time i see them m-f but you have to have "PATIENCE" once you get use to and monitor what your child is what i mean by that what you have to dp to keep your blood pressures down for example my 7yr old in the store i have to hold her hand put her in the cart keep her by me or she'll be evet were eles. My 12 yr old i have to stay in the room he's cleaning. If i dont 30 mins later he'll only picked up one piece of paper. Get to know her and her triggers and you'll be fine. And get to know the uniqueness about you're child. My 7yr old knows his to french braide and single braid her own hair and she is a great designer. She can coordinate her clothes better than me. So i just let her dress her self. And she includes a purse in every outfit. Good luck you got this. And no help from dad or family. Single mom of 5. My God give you strength. Have a great weekend. But before i go. Love on her and give her her meds at home. Maaannn, that'll make your life a whole lot easier. I didn't at first only for school. But it wasn't fair to them for me to be yelling all the time.
