NO!
I is for Inclines...Invigorating and...... INSECTS!
Yesterday... a day away from medical establishments and all that involves... a day out on a Pumpkin hunt...
Special time spent with daughter and small person... at a local Fruit Farm... where they go overboard for Autumn and the Autumn festivals!
We arrived under overcast skies but nothing could dampen the mood...wheelbarrows collected, the damp sweetness of wet leaves and fields in the air... and the whole place to ourselves... so to the pumpkin field ?
No... not one. but FIVE fields of Pumpkins... we did them all!
A lot of walking...over an hour... and a lot of INCLINES... every field was on a slope... good job the pumpkins are still attached and held by a lot of very damp foliage!
We walked, we laughed, we talked, we collected..as we walked, we compared pumpkins we saw...colour, size , shape and feel... yes feel...
have you ever seen a Warty Goblin! They are amazing... we found so many... the views were lovely, the rain kept away, although the fields were very wet and I got very messy!
An hour of walking, of field hopping and changing of minds.
Grubby hands, wet trousers... and then down to pay.... we passed monsters and ducks and swans and small person was invited by one of the owners of deed the swans... ( safely), as they have learned where the food is always good and in a safe location too !
We made it, safely, past the HUGE INSECT too
We were given a very good price for our selections and... the thought of all the pumpkin pie and soup ahead... gave the morning an even sweeter taste !
I have no idea how far or what elevation we covered . But I know my legs ached!
A happy, INVIGORATING, day, and we left and headed home...muddy, but glowing with fresh air and laughter.
Happy walking everyone !
PS
My favourite pumpkin... the Turban one and of course.. the Warty Goblin ! x
