Walk-runs, calf strains, dog bites and tractors

Well, there is a first time for everything, and I experienced two firsts on my walk-run today:

First, I overtook a tractor! Yup! It had passed me as I came onto its farm track, planning to joggle after it. Ok, it obviously drove faster than me, but after a few 100 meters it slowed down a bit (… just a bit, if you’re wondering … and no … it didn’t stop completely … really … and thank you for asking 😉😏) at which point I took the convenient wide track to overtake it. And yes I think the driver was monitoring his cows in the meadow to the left, therefore slowing down. The path at that section was pretty wide and quite soon after I passed him, I could hear him catching up again. So I stepped to the edge to let him pass. So then I was joggling behind him again. However, nothing changes the fact that I OVERTOOK A TRACTOR!!!!! How good is that! 🙌🙌🙌🎉🎉🙌

Second, for the first time ever on a run/walk I got bitten by a dog! It just nipped at my hamstrings. I could feel it’s teeth, but I think it slid off my slidy, new leggings. I didn’t think there was any damage until I took my leggings off at home, the inside of which had a bit of blood on it, but leggings were intact. So I got off easy. But not really looking forward to running into that dog again!😬🐶

I hope everyone else on their walks had as beautiful weather as I had but that you had fewer dog bites to contend with.

And may you also have the pleasure of overtaking a tractor on your outings!!! 😃😉😄🚜💨

Good walk/run apart from your dog bite. Wont you need a tetanus jag? I am not a fan of dogs not on leads , don’t like them jumping on me. But I do like dogs 🐕.

Don’t think so, but used disinfectant salve.

I also think it rather ripped/punctured skin at a single point as leggings are completely intact. 🤨🤔 So I think I didn’t get in contact with saliva. 🤞

Yay for the tractor 🎉, nay for the naughty dog 🐶 No walking for me today as I woke up with a horrible headache and shaky hands - will see the GP if it doesn't resolve tomorrow 😒

Take care of your naughty nip 😥

Yay for passing a tractor! Can you find the owner of the dog to confirm the dog had a rabbies shot? That is scary, hope all is well!

All is well. Thank you. I did not get in contact with saliva, my leggings are still intact completely. So I think the dog slid off them. Thank you.

😁

I did forget to talk to the owner or get his name. I was just so much in my zone, with music in my ears and only 5 minutes to go on my run.

But I did call our health centre to check in, and there are no other reports. (And confirmation that UK is free of rabies and no rabies shots are needed 🙂🙃🙂 … phew 😮‍💨😀)
