Back on the road again

I have continued to do my exercises - pilates for half an hour almost every day, and one or two lots of back/hamstring routines. So there's about an hour of that lot, plus walking for up to half an hour.

On Friday and Saturday I did very gentle jogs around the garden - firstly for 30 seconds and then for a minute, twice during the day, with stretches before and after.

On Sunday I went out for 22 minutes, with walks mixed in with 4 x 90 seconds of gentle jogging, for a total of six minutes.

This morning I did 30 minutes of yoga and then the same 22 minutes, but this time 3 x 120 seconds. I feel better and easier than I did on Sunday.

I have shaved, showered and then cooked for almost an hour and a half. It's 0850!

I enjoyed the change to yoga this morning - first session in months! Adrienne is rather wonderful and though I missed the extra push of the pilates exercises and the physical release I feel afterwards, I did get some different movements to ease back & hamstrings - plus I got to some deeper breaths that have clearly being waiting around for quite a while for a chance to get out ...

I know I was capable of running further today - actually probably much further, but I am restraining myself. I'll do the same type of time on Thursday, two good walks in London over the weekend, and then hopefully run for very slightly longer on Monday.

I'm sorry this setback happened, but it is going to make me stronger in the long run. My body already feels looser than it did a month ago, when I could run 5k. In a couple of months I may be back at that kind of distance, but I will be a different, more secure and stable runner.

I must admit, I don't feel like sitting and working on scripts and play recordings for hours on end now, but duty calls ...

Happy running/walking/stretching/exercising!

I am so happy Gthants that you are continuing to do your exercises and pilates for 30 minutes every day, well done on that Sunday morning walk with a little jogging mixed in✔️, glad you enjoyed your yoga this morning despite it being the first session for months, with all those various exercises it won't be long before you can get out and have a good run, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍✅

Well done, you have worked really hard to get to this point. You will be much stronger for it now and less prone to injury with all gese types of workouts. It's great you have been so disciplined, returning to running has been hastened by this. All the best .
