In my local park is a river that runs out into the sea. I took some pictures and it was a bit of a cloudy day, and the tide was out! But I hope you can get the feel of it anyway.
Top left is my favourite spot. The view from the little footbridge. When the sun is shining, that water sparkles beautifully as it splashes over the stones. You can see the slope running down into the water, and that is the place where all the dogs run up and down (very popular with dog walkers, this park). They love that stream! Top right is a bit further along, and sometimes there are children striding across those stepping stones. Oh and all the dogs love it too. The bottom shows the muddy place which looks lovely when the tide is in. Lots of birds gather here. Well, not the day I took the picture though - couldn't find a single one.
So, although you're not seeing it at its best, it is a beautiful place to walk. Peaceful, pretty, close to nature. I never fail to feel more at ease with the world when I've been there. There's something special about walking near water.
Thanks CBDB for posting another interesting idea for walking this month.
