A walk in the sunshine

After Sunday’s events, I’m still a little battered around the edges but I’ve been reassured by my physio that walking, even with a little discomfort is good for me. It’s so hard to find anywhere flat around here (downhill is the worst for inducing pain at the moment) but I decided to brave a route around here that had lots of options to cut short as needed.

The weather is just lovely at the moment and I ditched the jacket I’d been wearing at the door. A good decision! Down (very slowly!) to the village. I was pleasantly surprised that it was much less painful than a couple of days ago. Through the village to post a card I’d bought ages ago but which definitely be late! The perils of buying too early! The pub is full of noisy revellers enjoying the sun.

I felt good enough to try a longer walk than just round the village and headed up a hill. This is much more comfortable than walking on the flat or downhill. There are bunnies in a field with a couple of donkeys but neither keen to pose for pictures! At the top of the hill, there’s a shorter route or a longer route. The longer route is much flatter so I opt for that. I’m rewarded by a family of blue tits following me along the hedgerows and primroses at my feet (pictured).

There’s a small estate to pass through with several cats sunbathing. I notice my left knee just start to complain more loudly than I was keen on so it was time to head for home.

Lovely to be out in the sunshine and frustrating as it is to feel limited at the moment, it could be a lot worse.

Good advice from your physio MissUnderstanding, nice walk for you today with all the sounds of nature on a lovely spring day, I like the bit about cats sunbathing, I understand about the flustrating part as you are limited to walks, not runs but hopefully you'll be able to run again soon.

Thanks Alan! It was lovely being out on such a nice day. I’ve always wanted a cat as a pet but it hasn’t happened so I always like spotting them when I’m out! Hopefully the end of next week might be when runs can restart. I’m both on a hurry and not in a hurry. I’m missing it but I know I’m not ready yet. I definitely want to take it at the right pace and I’ll be leaning on my physio for what that will be.

spring is definitely here and it’s making it so much easier to get outdoors! (My poor indoor rower might see me less in during the sunny season)

Lovely picture and it sounds like a great walk!
