Wear the right shoes for you...

Hiya,

In the past 3 weeks (holiday at the coast) I have done a few walks to and from the 2 nearby towns. It is about 7 km back and forth I think and then adding the walking around there for groceries and such.

You may have heard (read) me whining about my health that I feel so tired and achy after such walks, while in the past (even a year ago) they were no problem at all, even longer walks.

Now I am going to let my blood be checked soon for all commonly checked things and going to ask for a check too if I might already be in a premenopausal-phase, because that may be too despite being 'only' 41. If that all is ok, I might try to find someone to check me for depression, because I have some signs of that too. But for all the same, it might all be nothing or an effect of my RA.

But what did I notice too? I have special walking shoes I use for my walks, but I used my easy Sketchers on my last walk and I had less aches in my feet and felt less tired. So maybe my special walking shoes are not that good for me.

So people, shoes are very important should you not know it already. Unfortunately special and expensive shoes don't mean they are right for you. If you have aches and such during a walk when you think you should not have them, try another pair of shoes and see if you have the same aches.

Cheers, Evy

Hi Evi think your doing the right thing seeing a doctor. Your health is important. I walk in Brooks trainers and in my Altras. which I rotate with. I had Skechers and they were making my feet worse not enough support for me. . It could be my feet as having nerve problems in feet and arthritis. Agree that expensive shoes can give you problems with feet. Hope you enjoyed your break
